i used my brother's account accidentally.
oh hai!
how heavy are you and how do you ride???
Shiver and Monsta are kina different fork..
each one bettter suited to a different style..
if your more of a point and shoot style rider the Monsta is a excellent choice… its so stiff and stable over Gnarly terrain…
the Shiver is a bit more supple and better suited to a "racer" style rider… not that either fork is a bad choice mind you…
personally i'd go for the Shiver…
hope that helps…
SHIVER
SELLING: 2003 norco sasquatch frame 210$obo PM for more info
I'd prefere a shiver myself… '02 Monster is way better then '03 though IMHO so you are totally on the right track if you go monster…
can probably get the monster cheaper too
02 Monster's own
If you ask me where the motor is, I'll
punch you in the face!!
def shiver. I see no point putting on a monster on a dh race frame.

I agree. Too bad we're not talking about a race frame.

'nuff said. 02 Monsters rule!
like I said in my post I don't race. I freeride and they say the demo 9 is great for freeride. I would like to put 888r on but I heard they are having some problems with them so I will wait. Some say monster 02 and some say shivers they also have 20mm more travel. I guess they are both good forks it is just personal preferance.

I had an 01 Monster, and switched to a 2003 Shiver. Sounds like my riding style is kinda like yours, and i wouldn't go back.
You'll also dig an 888r. They are not having "problems", not sure on where you got that from. I have heard of some breaking at the pinch bolts (cracking) but that is 100% a result of overtightening.
I've been running an 888r on the RMX for the last 5 weeks or so and am really happy with it.
if you want to save some $$$ and weight, my '03 Super T can handle anything I've dished at it…. alot of it depends of your weight though….
just some more food for thought
:canada:
Ive ridden both forks, I was on a 02 monster for about 8 months and had no problems and thought very highly of it. I then rode a friends shiver, and was very impressed with how much more supple the ride was. Anyway I switched over to a shiver and haven't looked back. I think it's a better fork all round because it has the small bump performace yet it's easily strong enough to take some huge hits.
WTF ever happened to natural selection…
