Yeah, if I had room and I could afford to watch it sitting there pining for the fjords, a fugitive 138 in purple would be back in, especially before that top tube gets straightened in the next releases (also shudder)

Just when I started to get used to (and actually like) the looks of the Knolly they are planning on changing the curvy looks?  Do you mean the top tube or down tube?

I'm glad I haven't sold my GG Smash even though it's not getting ridden much. It's paid for and made of metal without a battery/motor it's obsolete tech that's not worth much. Yet it still rides great for those times when I do want full squish like my trips to the SW US desert.

The only new FS machine that interests me is a short travel steel bike like a Reeb or a custom rig. I think that could be fun, but it's a lot of $$ to find out and I'll probably still grab a hardtail most of the time.

If I hadn’t sold the Fugitive to finance the Docta and DH bike, it would definitely be slotting into the same usage as your GG

I’ve got no problem with that.  Still looks knolly to me.

Little bikes leaning.

The pilots have bells on their bars, but there's no chance of anyone not hearing the oncoming hoots and hollers once gravity takes hold of them.

That’s awesome. Looks like a great day.

Awesome. How old? And how do they manage the likes of Transient/ Clinical?

8 and nearly 6.

Lots of pushing up Transient - that could improve when the 6th birthday brings gears & 24" wheels.

They're all about Transient as a downhill, they leap off and walk around the hairpins, but cackle with glee on the whoops.

If you've got some around that age I recommend the #25 bus - it takes you from the bottom of Transient to the playground at the west end of Highbury Fling / top of Clinical.

Managed to find a spot to lean our hardtails against in Cumberland. Believe it or not there's an awesome view behind the clouds.

Old and slow

Thanks Skooks. Looks like I won the highest bar and fender game. ;-)

Great riding with you and the rest of the NSMB Forum Crew.

HT leaning against the garage door.

The forks are now at 120mm - it was my first ride with them and i'm not sure if I like it - 140 felt like it was more fun and I didn't get as bashed trying to keep up with mates on FS bikes.  The HA at 120 is about 65 which feels steep cf 64 at 140.  I may do a few more rides but think i'll be going back to 140mm.  At 140 I feel I can ride the bike anywhere at a reasonable speed.  120 not so.

Note the front tyre bodge - the tyre (WTB Vigi 2.3 light) blew off the rim walking up to re-do a set of doubles (about 10 miles ride from home). We ended up putting a tube in and the bead was loose so the tyre kept coming off. The cable ties kept everything together for the 10 mile ride home.

Lessons Learned - Don't ride light tyres, always carry a pump, always carry a tube, always carry cable ties (16 min) and be prepared to walk home.

What travel are others running on the front of their HTs and what's the general consensious about ideal numbers (if there are such a thing).
