Signpost lean at the old home trail. 27.5 wheels still fun. 2017 Fox entry level suspension still working fine in 2023.

Are you finding much to test the limits in the Netherlands? My assumption is a CX bike would be a good choice, but I know what they say about assumptions...

Haha not much! The primary use case for this bike used to be the annual summer trip to the Alps with my cousin. Haven't done one since Covid. There are nowadays quite a few fun XC flow trails in Holland, they are mostly fine on a CX bike but there are rooty trail sections, small drops, braking bumps etc.

Still collected over 500 m of elevation on group ride with old riding buddies:

Edit: elevation profile:

Nice! Usually only hear that song once a year (Top2000!), made me all nostalgic :) Never seen the video either I don't think.

Getting 500mtr elevation is pretty good for the Netherlands, but of course you were on one of the biggest hills (outside of Limburg anyway) ;)

I tore a derailleur cage off my Arrival today, and riding the rest of the descent chain less was a salient reminder how amazingly bikes work without danglers.

It played in my mind all day, and next thing I’ve ordered an O Chain R (with a short detour reading A J’s glowing review on the OG O).

I’ll update here, and am curious if anyone else has ridden o chain spiders?

I'm squeezing the last juice out of the school term, one more week then it'll be exclusively kiddie rides for a month or so.

Great weather, and pleased with the switch from Code to Saint. I'll try to zhuzh up the performance of the Srams, but that can happen on the HT with the chilluns instead of my precious solo time.

I really like the geometron sticker colours paired with the port covers there.

Port covers? Do you mean the cable clamps?

haha, yes, I forgot the term. I have a matte black G1 in building status and the small colour offsets are looking great on your frame.
I'm really looking forwards to playing on it/learning it once everything comes together.

Did some lego of my own, swapped out the RC4 for the monarch+, the low/high flip chip is the same length as the E2E difference, so ~20mm less travel but the geometry is within a pedants pinkie.

Differences as expected - poppier, harsher, peppier climbing... I just wanted to change one variable at a time, so this is a step towards trying a 29 rear wheel.

"The Murmur is running a Zee derailleur with a 11-42 cassette. The chain seems to tension ok in practise but with the shock removed I'm loose on the 11t at top out and can't bottom out in the 42t. You run the same setup, correct? Have you noticed this? Chain is tensioned at sag in the small cog and I come out of the 42 for any aggressive dips while grinding uphill. So no worries? Maybe I'll take this to the FS thread and post a photo or two. Green/black frame with WolfTooth Espresso accents = classy..."

I have my 10Zee Murmur setup as follows - Shimano 4100 11-42 cassette, 30t chainring, HG95 chain - with two links removed.  This allows it to work in the 11 cog without getting saggy.  BUT you will rip the mech off if you bottom in the 42.  My logic is that I should never be bottoming in the 42 AND if I do it's my fault for not remembering.  I only use the 42 for really steep pitches therefore never likely to bottom anyway.  IIRC I have to run a longer B tension screw to crank a bit more tension into the chain.  I've run it like this for a few years now with no issues.

If you need I can count links for you.  IIRC I have the same chain length on the Solaris with 32t cog which has 444CS cf 445 on the Murmur.  This lets me swap drive trains between bikes if needed.

How are the LB rims fairing after that 9 year slog? I only ask because I've got one of their older "Enduro" models as a Rear on my DH bike (swapped from my hard tail). It's been in service for a couple years now, and puts up with a lot of abuse, so I'm basically just gather data points. I've heard others talk about LB rims being good work horses.

Ive had a decade on LB 29 rims on my Surface. DT DB spokes, prolock brass nipples and 240s hubs.  Zero issue. Still running the same Stans rim tape too

We've had several sets of LB rims over the years and never had an issue. They work great, air up tubeless easily and the price is nice. If I was buy a new set of carbon rims I'd get another set of LB rims.
