I wish I had some input but I've never ridden the Optic aside from parking lot tests :(
Everyone I know who has one loves it though and I've seen some fast guys on that bike.

A few snaps from yesterday's ride, definitely into Fall riding now and enjoying the change of weather and conditions. Been on this Tyee AL for a few months now, still tweaking the setup (and chasing a creak..) but it's been pretty sweet so far.
Nice photos Michel! I'm enjoying the fall conditions as well. Yesterday morning I was riding in and out patches of fog on an otherwise sunny early morning, very cool.
The trails had become so dry and bombed out over the summer it's nice to have tacky dirt again. All those bombholes turned into puddles though, I've been draining a bunch of them on recent rides.
Some pics from the last few weeks.
Took the GeoMachine up for a big view ride in the sun...
Then the sun changed its mind...
And so did I, turning tail and squelching my way back down
Then once the leaf litter soup had had a good chance to soak everything, the sun came back for a giggle.
Oh well, fun anyway.
Very mixed conditions in Cumberland yesterday. Much more snow than I expected. Descending in the snow was hilarious as always. Lower trails were mostly snow-free, some were peanut butter but those under tree cover were very tacky, good times on the old Reign.
We've had some really nice conditions the last couple week ends, with a bit of seasonal weather crammed conveniently in between. Last weekend I was doing perfect velcro laps of 19th Hole in Squamish. This was from a few very DANK Shore Days we got a week and a half ago. Absolutely love the mood in the woods when it's like that.
Oh hey! Sweet YT bike! :)

Oh hey! Thanks Milkman. I'm sure you'll have some type of ridiculous plow tank at some point soon too.
Signpost lean at the old home trail. 27.5 wheels still fun. 2017 Fox entry level suspension still working fine in 2023.

Are you finding much to test the limits in the Netherlands? My assumption is a CX bike would be a good choice, but I know what they say about assumptions...

Haha not much! The primary use case for this bike used to be the annual summer trip to the Alps with my cousin. Haven't done one since Covid. There are nowadays quite a few fun XC flow trails in Holland, they are mostly fine on a CX bike but there are rooty trail sections, small drops, braking bumps etc.
Still collected over 500 m of elevation on group ride with old riding buddies:
Edit: elevation profile:

I was waiting for the cars coming home late at night

Nice! Usually only hear that song once a year (Top2000!), made me all nostalgic :) Never seen the video either I don't think.
Getting 500mtr elevation is pretty good for the Netherlands, but of course you were on one of the biggest hills (outside of Limburg anyway) ;)
I tore a derailleur cage off my Arrival today, and riding the rest of the descent chain less was a salient reminder how amazingly bikes work without danglers.
It played in my mind all day, and next thing I’ve ordered an O Chain R (with a short detour reading A J’s glowing review on the OG O).
I’ll update here, and am curious if anyone else has ridden o chain spiders?
I'm squeezing the last juice out of the school term, one more week then it'll be exclusively kiddie rides for a month or so.
Great weather, and pleased with the switch from Code to Saint. I'll try to zhuzh up the performance of the Srams, but that can happen on the HT with the chilluns instead of my precious solo time.
I really like the geometron sticker colours paired with the port covers there.
