I believe the French name for dual suspension is "double entendre"
Got me, proper snorter.

Does you're SD Ultimate on the core 3 have the hydraulic bottom out feature?
I have no idea, and I don't know how to tell if it does. From the googling I just did it appears to be inside the shock with no external sign? If it doesn't, I can apparently "upgrade it" so that it does... I guess I will find out the first time I send it in for service!
If it has the HBO there will be a pyramid of lines at the lower eyelet where the max travel is indicated. I don't think it's possible to upgrade at service as the damper body appears different in the parts catalog.

Yep, the line pyramid appears to be the indicator. I'm interested if many bikes are coming with OEM SD Air w/HBO, from my product peeping, and monitoring the buy/sell take-offs, they're fairly rare. From what I've heard, you can swap the damper body to add the feature, but I'm not sure if that cost/benefit makes sense.
I did exactly that on a 23 SD Air. The new body was 30€. Shock needs to be depressurized and disassembled. But if it‘s due a service anyway…

That's not terrible at all. Hopefully an authorized service center can source those if necessary (a lot of sram aftermarket parts are unavailable online in NA).
My shock does not have the pyramid of lines so I don't think it has the HBO - but that's fine. My last SD Ultimate never had it and I loved that shock - I am sure I will love this one as well. But if it is just a matter of buying and installing a new damper body I will consider it if bottoming becomes an issue - but from what I have read the suspension on these YT's are supposed to be fairly progressive so I am not sure if bottoming will be an issue for me (I am not sure heavy and I don't ride super fast or aggressively).

new bike leaning on rock in front of the Piz Palü glacier and Piz Palü
It's tiny, I can't see it...whatcha get?
I'll post this here, as we were riding FS bikes, though I'd have been happy on the HT too.
Flat Top trails in Alexandra. We didn't have as long as we'd have liked, there's plenty more rocks to sample in the area. The scrub is thyme, so getting off line smells nice, and the rock is schist - much better grip than I'm used to.
Good times.
I like the expansive view in the top photo. Riding through Thyme sounds kind of nice!

Nice! I have a photo from that exact spot from my trip 5 years ago. So beautiful there. These conditions must be unusual for August?
