Dan - It's organised chaos on the DIY shelves, the bike shelves are a bit better.

Same as before but maybe a change of colour to teal front (if I can find the right colour rattle can).  I went with silver parts on the last build so may go back to it - I nicked a few bits for the Solaris.  Will keep it at 160/140 coil.  Have done 120/120 and 140/140 both of which were fun but now I have the Solaris my short travel needs are taken care of.

Small issue with mine…

After three months I ended up with a warranty triangle and an email essentially saying 'we've never seen one fail like this before' (I've seen 3 and heard from a shop that sells them they've seen a few), 'you probably broke it on purpose but we'll give you a rear end anyway'.

Really shitty experience that has me down on the bike and hoping I don't have to go through another warranty with these jerks.

My 2 pence worth - sell it and get yourself a steel FS frame from someone local.  If it breaks it's an easy fix (unless you know of a good local composite repair company).

Vik - you need to get us some "lean" photos from your latest trip (assuming you're on the GG).

I hope Vik is enjoying some time off from the internet - I'm sure he'll share some photos once he's back.

In the meantime, we can't let this page be photoless so here are two photos from the last few days showing very different conditions....

Last Saturday, first ride in Cumberland in a while, most snow-free trails still pretty soggy overall, think wet cement. The best conditions were on trails with a little fresh snow and frozen dirt:

Then yesterday afternoon, sunny spring day, went out for a quick rip on the local XC trails (almost ideal dirt conditions) with a snack break at the beach:

Pretty stoked to explore more trails in the region now that spring has arrived!

I should have some piccys up soon as i've finished the lacquer on the Murmur and just need to rebuild it (and wait for it to stop raining before I take it out for a ride).

Niels - frozen dirt is the best.  We had some earlier this year but things have warmed up and turned to slop.

Done - almost (awaiting rear hub pawls hence the missing rear rotor). Forks are now at 170 which should be interesting.  I do rearlly need to swap the seats with my other less beaten up Trailmaster LTD.

You may recognise it from the Transition Spur - it's the same paint code.

Nice. Though to be transparent this isn't helping the whole Bike Stuff Dream Wishlist thinking. LOL

What may help is that I have been riding the Solaris Max a while lot more since I got it.  If I had to ditch a bike the Murmur would have to go.  The Murmur is a great bike but a good HT isn't far behind and way more versatile and a ton cheaper to keep running.

That concrete needs jetwashing!

Nice bike but you're going to want a rear rotor... ;-)

Colour is lovely by the way!
