Thanks buddy.
Lack of motivation along with any other reason you could think of. Mostly laziness.
Hopefully can get out tomorrow for a short rip on the Fluid :)
I’m looking forward to again riding my 2022 Trek Fuel EX 8 in size XXL. No part upgrades planned as of yet.
Just have to wait 5 more months until the snow melts 😧
New bike day. Knolly chilcotin 167
very cool
My 2020 Reign 29 is still going strong. Only change since last year is the mini fender up front. Haven't felt the need to change anything else.
I'm pretty impressed by the stock Giant wheels. Based on internet reports I was expecting to low end DT 3-pawl freehub to crap out sooner or later but no issues so far. I'll keep riding them, if they ever do give up the ghost I'll see if I can convert them to DT's ratchet system (DT sells a kit now). The non-descript alloy Giant rims have been solid too. I had the wheels checked over by a professional once and they were like "what do you want me to do, these wheels are as good as new".
I'm hoping to find some time in the next two months to tear down the suspension pivots and check the state of the bearings.
A few updates to the same frame I’ve had for 3 years now. Mullet large Transition Patrol
•Fox 38 with Vorsprung Smashpot
•Fox DHX2 with CC progressive coil and one offset bushing
•Chromag OSX 35 bars/OneUp stem
•TRP Quadiem brakes. Hoping to upgrade to DHR-Evos at some point
Love the bike, no reason or excuse to buy anything different!
Old bike day! My trusty 2018 Guerilla Gravity Smash striking a pose. I managed zero days of FS riding in 2022. I do have a desert road trip planned for 2023 and I'll take the GG with me so we can spend some quality time smashing rocks and getting dusty. I've got some 2.6" tires to go on and I'll do a lower's service on the fork. Besides that she's in fine shape. For a do it all trail bike I haven't seen anything hit the market that makes me think it would be an upgrade on the Smash. I'm keen to see if a long stretch of back to back riding days unlocks my monkey motion stoke or if I've gone too far over to the darkside of hardtails? ;-)
Smash porn from back in the day.
With the success of the `bike leaning against tree/signpost` photos in the hardtail thread, I figured the full suspension thread couldn't lag behind.
Pretty interesting conditions in Cumberland this morning. First lap was a mix of excellent grip on the frozen dirt and zero grip on the icy rocks and roots. Second lap a bit warmer, more standing water, more soggy dirt, but mostly good riding.
Yeah, some interesting conditions at the moment. I am regularly noticing how much more grip my tires offer compared to my oldish FiveTen freeriders. Stopping or stumbling with a foot off the pedals can result in dangerous tripod-slow-crashing =)
Figured I'd join the party after 3 years of reading articles and commenting for the first time this week. Got those New kid in the class vibes.
Not a North Shore rider currently, stuck in Ontario for now, with occasional trips to Van Island to visit the parents in Mill Bay, but that will likely change in 3 years after Ive finished giving the Crown 20 years of service.
Anyways, On with the Bike(s), having gotten back on the pedals after an 18yr break in Spring '21 on a cheap Giant Talon 3 and rekindling my childhood love of Bike. The Talon lasted 3 months under a clydesdale and was retired to commuter duty as I sought out my first used FS. The Talon was surpassed by a 2014 Specialized Camber FSR 29er that got upgunned with a 140mm RS Revealation and a 1x12 conversion among a pile upgrades and she has performed wonderfully and progressed my ability and skill far beyond what it was. Unfortunately in 2 short seasons, Rider had surpassed bike, and said Rider needed more than 110mm of squish out the back end.
So, I sought out the object of my desires and Completed a frame up build on my dream long travel enduro sled in December, just in time to take it to North Carolina for a little Shredcation away from the Ontario snows.
Unfortunately, all 3 bikes are on forced rest due to a broken fibula sustained on the aforementioned Shredventure... 1 more week til Cast Off/Physio begins and Im really stoked about the Rides 2023 has in store 🤘
EDIT: Photos didnt work, trying again!

Welcome, KDix85! Nice Propain, we don't see those a lot here! Hope you heal up fast.
Thanks Niels, shes rides like a dream and Im glad to start participating on the forum after gleaning so much info and knowledge over the last couple years of reading here.
As for the few Propains in Canada, Ive only seen one other out this way, but very few elsewhere so far, though that may change as Neko Mulally has them providing his rental fleet at Ride Rock Creek in North Carolina.
But in the end, I couldnt let Remy Metallier have all the fun y'know. It will be coming with me for summer leave this year on my drive to the Island and it will def be getting a taste of some Squamish and Shore on the way...
Small issue with mine…
