Yeah, I know some hard chargers who have been ok with no lower guide.

It’s worth noting the impact Forbidden and Deviate have had, there are other manufacturers making bikes with more rearward axle path as a result, even if not HP.

That said, I borrowed a Druid while overseas for work about 2 months after I got off mine, and man, the drag and noise compared to the bike I replaced the Druid with was like night and day, I did not enjoy it.

Forbidden and Geometron can both take a bow for dragging us kicking and screaming to new ideas.

Time for an updated pic for my Banshee Prime. I am now running a Manitou Mezzer Pro on the front and a Cane Creek DB Inline Coil on the rear...and am loving it. I kept the steerer long to help get my front end up and I am loving it! Also running the Mezzer at full length as the adjustment tokens didn't come in the box...hopefully be getting those soon! But bike is killer with 180 in the front...haha. The coil on the rear for the most part feels great, but I do feel more pedal bob than I ever did with the fox air shock...but it just sticks to the ground...lol. Also, first time our pup has been to the top of the climb trail....she loves it out there too!

Great call on the suspension choices! Yeah, 180 is pretty overkill.

Nice one Pedalhound. I love the look of those Banshee frames.

I thought I may be the most overforked rider in Cumby with the Reign tester (170 up front), good to know someone is out there with 180, lol!

180 on a Prime is 45mm more than the rear travel. He's blowing you out of the water in that department.

Sorry, I meant overforked as in "more fork travel than you'll ever use on those trails", not so much in relation to rear travel. My bad.

The Reign has been pretty fun even in Cumby despite being overkill for many trails. It's been fantastic at Forbidden. Gonna try to use all that travel in the bike park soon.

Yeah, it was fun in Whistler in this configuration too! Reign is a big bike for Cumberland, but I saw some poor kid pedaling his DH bike up the climb trail yesterday...lol. I was really having a battle in my head for a long time before I chose the Prime over the Titan...and there's still days when I think the Titan would be kickass too.

I have both. I liked riding the Titan with a 160 mm fork the most. You lose virtually nothing to the Prime in terms of weight but gain the angles of the Titan which I prefer for NS riding. I never got along with the prime, which is why I barely rode it. The Prime was set up with a 160 mm CC Helm 2. Switched the build over to a Stumpjumper Evo and now have the prime listed for sale. Same build, the SJ Evo is more fun to me than the Prime ever was.

I rode the Titan with the fork set at 180, 170 and 160, with the 160 for being my favourite setup.

Picked up a mixed wheel wheelset for the Chilcotin, eager to ride Cypress on Sunday and test out the mullet.

Sweet. That bike has a definite "take me for cypress laps, please" look to it. :)

Classic tree lean at Üterbraten trailhead at South Benson in Nanaimo. First time riding in Nanaimo. Had an errand to run and got a quick lap in on the Simpsons trails. Super fun!

I almost crashed into an older couple attempting to push one of their e-mtbs up a steep and loose section on Sexy Flanders. "Sorry we know this is a downhill trail but we're trying to get up to something something. Are there more steep sections like this?". I said yes, lots of them, and made a friendly suggestion to walk back down to the nearest logging road and ride up it instead. 🤷‍♂️
