I am sending my Pipedream Sirius S5 2021 frame to UK as a warranty case. First sign that appeared was some paint cracks, then the frame cracked. Right in front of the first welded cable holder (downside tobtube)

BTW: can I attach a picture to the message from my mobilphone?

Sorry to hear that. I'll keep an eye on mine. I've overforked my Sirius and ridden it pretty hard. Keep us updated as to what Pipedream says.

If you want to post a photo you need to host it somewhere and then use a link to that site to post the photo. If you don't want to do that I can PM you my email and do it for you.

Got out for a nice Christmas Day ride yesterday, hadn't been able to get up the mountain for the past week with the freeze/thaw/freeze cycles but things are thawing out.  The trails down were a wet mess but it was good to get out and turn some pedals :)

That background is outrageous. Thanks for sharing, glad you made it out.

BTW what bar are you running? Local shop finally put their foot down and ordered me a Kona Unit, I hear the stock bar is low.

Mid spin as the rain hit and within an hour started to go towards slight ice.

After Stormeggedon.

I had my first propper ride on the Solaris Max today.  My legs are feeling it now (been riding the squishy bike too much).  This new school HT thing is fun.  I'll get some piccys up at some point altho its still a work in progress.

Thanks!

It's an OddMone bar from Mone bikes, 75mm rise and 15 degree sweep. I really like it so far, fits great and looks great imo. Running with fat ESI grips which adds some more cushion, it's a pretty comfortable setup.

Current build of the Solaris Max - Pike RC 140mm (2014 IIRC and they're well roached), 511/Hope wheels/29x2.3 Tough Vigis, XT cranks + Wolftooth SS ring, Zee/XT 10 speed, Chromag seat and stem, Hope HS, rotors and seat clamp, Brand X 150mm dropper, XT/Zee brakes, polished Ergotec 50x12 bars, Burgtec MK4 pedals, Saint BB and "matching" ebay gold preload cap. Anti theft guards - RRP front, MH rear.

Things to change - front rotor up to 203 - and route the hose correctly around the fork, BB swap for black Hope, swap pedals for silver Burgtec MK5. I'm not sure on the blue on blue - but it's what I had in the parts bin... I may swap all the silver bits off the Murmur if I can be arsed. Purple ano would look good or Pink if I can get it, or gold....

With lots of free time over the holidays I've been trying to pack as much hardtailing into the time left this year. The Bike Gods have provided some sweet moments on the trails when I have shown some resolve and set out from the trailhead amid big piles of snow. The chatter on local social media is frequently bemoaning how you can't ride mountain bikes in the forest right now.

Oh well means we have the place to ourselves. My GF has requested a hardtail upgrade for 2023 after 4 years on the RSD Middle Child so stay tuned.

Proof I actually ride bikes....instead of just walking around the forest and leaning them up against stuff.

Warm hands for the win.

Parking lot is packed snow and ice. Summit looks like this. Go figure. The Bike Gods reward those that crank up the mountain.

Looks great FM. The bike has a great stance and those fenders! Warms my heart. Have fun on the new machine.

Wow. Is that sticking around or melting away pretty fast? Reminds me of my poor student days in Kingston. My transport was an early rigid MTB. I wasn't trying to be a hardcore "winter" rider, but if I wanted to see my GF or get to the pub I pedaled around town through the epic lake effect snow.

Vik - thanks and will do.  Fenders are a must this time of year - looks be damned.  The first few rides have been fun - i'm "almost" questioning why I need a FS bike - but then when it gets chunky I remember why I have a FS bike (which is also fun).

I'm at the point where a bike without fenders looks odd [at least up here in the rainforest]. I don't like the look of my bikes without that rear fender.

I dropped in at the LBS yesterday to say Happy New Year to the crew. We were chatting FS bikes and new bling and stuff. I remarked that I was open to a sweet new FS bike if something actually generated some serious stoke and that I wasn't riding HTs to be hardcore or any reason other than they are fun and I enjoy riding them more than my FS bike.

I'm planning a desert trip in March and I'll dust off my FS bike for that. High speed square edge rocky chunk is one scenario where FS will make me smile more. Especially for many back to back riding days. Who knows maybe I'll come back a FS convert and hang up the HTs for a while?

Our local version of "chunk" is a lot less savage than the US SW desert and I enjoy the challenge of getting a HT down those trails as smoothly as possible.
