Out of boredom looked at the Cotic website. Holy exchange rate... 480 Brit Pounds is like $802 Canadian.

https://www.cotic.co.uk/order/framebuilder/BFeMAX/

Our economy is in the shit at the moment hence the low pound - feel free to help us out and buy a sweet HT frame ;)

I've just got myself back in the HT game.  Picked up a used Solaris Max frame.  Piccys once I get it built.

Nice. Should be a fun bike. Looking forward to seeing it built.

It was nice to be out on the trails. The snow was surprisingly rideable in most places!

Yes. That was great. Checking out new trails is always a gamble when there is a decent amount of snow on the ground. I was hopeful, but it worked out really well. I knew when we were riding our bikes uphill the snow in an open area was going to be pretty rideable overall. Thanks for taking a gamble and coming out with me.

In case anyone was wondering. Little while ago while looking up frame options emailed Marino bikes just to see how they adapt pre fabricated Cabala to 12x142 and 12x148. Rear drop outs are spaced at 12x145 with apparently no adapters required.

From back in the day. My old fatbike over the Bow River in -30 deg C range of temps. There were not a lot of other riders out! ;-)

Yeah, that fog on river looks familiar. This year there’s a squad of geese that honks when they see my light go by. They’re going to regret the decision to stay for the next week for sure!

I give up at about -20C. Fortunately, the temperature swings are wild and fast. It seems like single spring day in Calgary can have the temperature range of a whole year on the west coast. Conversely, I think a single day on the coast could easily have a year’s worth of Calgary precipitation.

Bloody bloody bloody bloody Kona Honzo STs are on sale at a retailer here in NZ at the moment. Apart from a similarly intentioned Ti frame, these are probably the dream for me...

Alas, there isn't enough space in my garage and an exactly converse and disappointing amount of space in my bank account.

😭

The shuttle driver was a bit surprised when I turned down a ride home and pulled my bike out of my vehicle as I dropped it off for service this morning.

With 3" tires and some MTB skills the ride home wasn't too bad. The white line is the shoulder/bike lane.

My reward for the cold morning snow ride was some pretty views...

...and some first tracks in the forest. #TRIPLEhardtailSSftw

Good to see the Krampus back out on the trails.

It's such a lovely green.  I could never get mine painted no matter how ratty it gets.

And the weather's been so good, summer holiday to ride with the kids (and after they're in bed)...

What's a boy to do?

Sorry, I sympathise, I'm on the flip side of that frustration wondering if the couriers will beat Christmas with my new toys. It's gonna take a lot of Waimapihi laps with the kids to get dialled in.

I’m pretty conservative on the new hardtail frame front, usually get near 10 years out of a singlespeed frame.

Then I saw these dropouts.

Cripes. Are those chain tugs I see hidden in the top of the chain stay?

Ah-ooooooh-gah!

There are tugs built in to the stays too.

Wow, that's tidy. What's the frame?

Assume there's an equally tidy mech hanger that bolts on if needed.

Please post more about these dropouts. Additive Ti? TA tension to retain the wheel, or is another bolt hidden? See PMW for reference.
