Why would one prefer a long head tube to a short head tube/long steerer tube combo?

Seems a short head tube would allow for more sizing options, while a long one limits them.

Reach is measured from the top of the HT, if you have to fit a stack of spacers the bike gets shorter.

Yeah for custom with no plans of playing with height, this makes sense.

When comparing stock frames this sounds just like like sizing up in order to achieve a desired handlebar height and not lose reach.

With the bonus of more space for a frame bag.

My expectations of the Firebird have been far surpassed, it’s easily quicker everywhere than my Druid, and I seem to have hit the goldilocks parts spec where it just feels super comfy and composed. Fair bit of the parts were from my old bike, but I opted to try the z pivot carbon bar (vs my usual vibrocore) and it feels great too.

If anyone is in the market, Knolly is having a 30% off sale at the moment. Just picked up a Chilcotin 167 with Fox Factory build for a great price.

Pics coming as soon as I finish my build.

Love my 38mm rise bar on my XL Megatower  but honestly considering 50mm for next season and get rid of the 15mm of spacers I have.

Where are you? That looks decidedly antipodean.

Good looking bikes, as expected. Looking forward to seeing one in person.

The G2 build isn’t terrible for pricing either.

I'd love a Lowdown in no-shock/frame-only.
