NSMB - 2019 - Full Suspension Bike Thread

This thread is dedicated to the all conquering  full suspension mountain bike. The bike you ride up and down the hills regardless of wheel size or width.  The go to bike you love to pin it to win it on.  The go to steed that puts a smile on your face.  

Use this thread to post up your bike regardless of wheel size, the number of chainrings, fatness or level of boostness.

Feel free to share some details on your set-up, weight or whatever makes it special to you.

I've only made one upgrade since the vaunted reveal on my thrillcraft machine last year and while not the latest/greatest iteration of it's kind, I'd say that dropper post rank up there with suspension, hydraulic brakes and good/modern geometry in terms of factors that have pushed the envelope in terms of riding enjoyment. that said, there are times when the extra effort from not taking advantage of dropper tech does provide a different level of satisfaction. and yes, that is an 8yr old joplin with a pop can shim doing dropper duty - been working fine so far. The Warden, used frame/fork and basically brand new everything else cost me a bit under $2100 which gets a big fuck yeah to min maxing.

This is going to be my 5th season on the Reign. Only change compared to last year is a Bikeyoke Revive 160 dropper (review coming soon!).

Photo taken last November at Rude Rock trailhead in Queenstown NZ because riding the same bike for 5 years means money left over for travel ;-)

1/2 season on the Patrol

So far my favorite bike for my local trails, few small upgrades but overall stock...and yes I use my granny gear cause Harper road if effing steep

i'm still loving my very upgraded 2016 Patrol. i demo'd a new one wondering if the SBG changes would rock my world, but they didn't. the old Patrol makes a better trail bike. i've wondered where the new Patrol fits in. Harper is where.

Honestly it doesn't fit in there either, its heavy and sucks to pedal up- TBH- not sure any bike makes that fun

The place it fits- flowy, rocky downhill

that's what i mean though. Harper has the terrain and high speeds where the new patrol would really shine. going up Harper, well it's going to suck either way, but at least the climbing position is comfortable on that bike , so you can enjoy the misery so to speak.  do people ride e-bikes up that mtn?

TBH- I didnt know people rode down harper..i thought it was the price to pay to get to the trails..like Fromme

And yes, EVERYTIME I ride Im passed by at least 1 ebike and a few times dirt bikes.

2019 Trek Remedy 8 although I've had it since August I think. Upgraded the brakes to XT 4 pot up front and 2 pot in the rear, Bontrager 800mm carbon baaa, Chromag saddle but otherwise pretty stock. May not have the 'cool' factor for some and unfortunately retails for less than $5000 ( ;) ) but it's the best handling bike I've ever ridden.

The 8 series are the best value in Treks line up for sure IMO - all the cool stuff like Eagle and proper tires and suspension, without the associated mark up of carbon. The Remedy is a great bike if you can get past the wrong size wheels ;-)

But my wheel size makes the trails alive! Or Something! I thought about the Slash 8 and it has similar handling, but I'd never fit it in the back of my car ha ha.

He's talking about 26" wheels, didn't you know he's OLD SCHOOL. (haunting the boards since 2003).

Ha, I know who he is :) We are of a similar vintage I think, albeit I gave my on-line version a re-birth when the site was overhauled. Funnily enough he rides one of the most progressives bikes out there.

It's been longer than that Tony.

My 2018 Norco Range C7.2.

This bike is amazing. I have racked up 1600km on everything from three of the Canadian National Enduro Series to park days to Shore to the island Enduro Series and it continues to blow my mind.

Changes from stock are:

150mm dropper, DT Swiss EM481 rims, 170mm cranks, Chromag 40mm HiFi stem, Chromag Cutlass carbon bar 770mm, Kona Wah Wah pedals, Specialized Power saddle, Minion WT.
