I just put the same rear fender on my Rootdown and am waiting to get my RRP Proguard XL...hope it arrives soon! The Pipedream looks like a hella fun bike, damn short ST killed it for me though.

Stumpy legs love it.  Not sure why they didn't make the seat tube longer on the longer (large) though.  420mm seat tube with 510mm of reach seems wrong.

Any recommendations for a longer reach pumptrack / BMX track hardtail? (i'm too old for DJ's..)

My old hardtail feels way too short now that i'm riding a long AM bike.

Ever try a BMX on the pump track? Every little pump and input equals momentum.

They're available in top tube lenghts long enough to fit anyone.

I regularly ride my DJ bike on the track, but it's a boat. On my buddy's 24" BMX I'm 7 seconds faster per lap and it's heaps more fun.

Buddy's 6'4" on a 21" top tube, but they're available up to 22" top tubes.

What rims are those/size Schwalbe's?

We Are One Agents with HD2/MM 2.35 tires.  I was impressed by these on my Fugitive and like them on the Moxie as well.

Yep! For a pump track, go for a proper race BMX and follow the fit guide for your height. BMX geometry is quite dialed and a 0.25-0.5" difference in top tube is quite remarkable. You risk regretting it if you go up 1 or 2 sizes on a BMX.

A long reach improves stability, which is good for a MTB when you ride fast on a rough trail, but you don't really want that on the BMX track. What you want is a bike with a very quick handling. Also, don't worry about the steep HA. I hate riding pumptracks on a mountain bike. The slack HA make it feel super sluggish. I like my BMX bike steep (74.5deg) as much as I like my MTB slack (<65deg).

Another thing:  Make sure you buy 29" or larger handlebars. 29" is the widest allowed in the UCI rule book for BMX racing. It sucks when you're used to wide bars.

Hey peeps, just ordered me an NS eccentric ALU 27.5 build with a 140mm up front. Anyone riding one of these guys and got any info or opinions for me?

Any questions you've got I can hopefully answer. Mines @ 140 since late February. If you haven't built yours up you're more then welcome to try mine. As long as you're comfortable on SPDs

But I’ll probably be looking for a new fork in a couple months. 140 or 160? Fox or rockshocks?

There's always plenty of RS Pikes in the Pinkbike Buynsell. Easy and cheap to convert between 130-160. I feel like on a HT if there's TOO much fork up from it becomes weird handling - BB too high, shortens up the reach, slackens the seated climbing position. I'd probably go with a Pike at 130 or 140.

I reckon you'd be better off with more quality suspension than more travel. But that's only IMO.

Just like with freeride bikes back in the day, those tires will suck. Upgrading to some better rubber will make a big difference - sturdier sidewalls, better tread, better rubber. Even if it's just SE4 27.5*2.8 from where you picked the bike up from. But winter riding is rarely best riding.

I put one ding in the rear rim today riding with about 17-18psi. Jumping onto a pointy rock probably was responsible for that. But with the way I ride, and much like the tires, I too am in the “mid-fat” range, it’s going to need a rear wheel soon.

The fork was meh, but not unrideable. I think 140mm with a good damper would be perfect. Hmm I do have a couple avalanche carts for 32mm boxxers sitting around. I bet Craig can supply parts to make it fit a pike.

I’m still surprised how smooth and stables it rides. Great on steeps, does jumps and hucks like a big bike, just stiffer. 

I also bent the seat.
