I don't see Salsa in the thread  but a buddy really likes her Salsa Timber Jack so I took a look at the specs

it looked very adaptable to whatever you want to run, enough room to run a 27.5 + or 29,

moveable/swapable  dropouts so you can run everything from a roloff hub/to 1x/ SS

comes in aluminum or even Ti

Don't know why it loads upside down, but if you click the attachment it shows up fine.

Had 5 rides on it so far and could not be happier with it.

Love the blue! I need to get out and get a pic of my Rootdown...health issues the last few weeks though. Getting old is awesome!

ML Gen 1 Rootdown just rebuilt with a new fork, drivetrain and new hub internals, likely going up for sale soon as my wife isn't so happy with bike #5 in the house.

Just got my fork back from the shop. Been riding my Evil for a few weeks - forgot how great this bike was.

Kona Ti Honzo, Chris King hubs and headset, RaceFace cranks, DVO diamond (why did they have to embrace green?), Cromag controls, Hope brakes = :)

Been running my Surface with a 27.5 setup for a while now, like it quite a bit as it feels a tad more nimble and is just fun.  Clearance in the back is a bit too tight though running a 2.8 tire so may have to drop down to a 2.6 to make this work or look at maybe getting a newer Surface or Primer down the line..  Decisions, decisions :)

Thanks, I always wanted one ever since I couldn't afford one back in the 90's. Now that I can get one, I figure when building a hardtail (a technologically regressed platform) why not use an outdated medium that costs more than carbon? Hardtails don't make sense to most riders, so why not take it to the limit?

I can't tell you how often I have heard

"why a hardtail?"

"why not get rear suspension?"

"Why titanium? Why is it so special....I always hear about it."

If you're going to buy a Hardtail (voluntarily, not because you can't afford a fullsusser), and if you've got the money, why would you ride anything else than Titanium? :) I agree, great build on that Honzo.
