This thread is dedicated to the Hardtail Bike.

The Hardtail; the simplest form of mountain bike yet it can take on so many forms.

Use this thread to post up hardtails and discuss them regardless of wheel size, the number of chainrings or set-up choice.

Feel free to share some details on your set-up, weight or whatever makes it special to you.

My Whishart. Fillet brazed in Vancouver and here absolutely crushing the Seawall. Joking aside this bike is awesome and I went for more 'aggressive' (roar!) geometry than the likes of Chromags that I've owned before. I think it weighs around 27lb but I don't really care too much as I built it up to be pretty robust.

After last year's bike theft, I'll be quite happy to have a great year riding the current contents of my garage, thank you very much.

Are the minion sidewalls "1.5-ply" or otherwise heavier duty?

I really like the colour of your bike!

Not sure of the sidewalls of the Minions (haven't received them yet). I'm currently running a Nobby Nic front and Rocket Ron rear. Wicked combo for the current weather and trail conditions. Thanks I like the colour too.

another hardtail i'd like to swing a leg over and give back dirty at the end of the day, if you know what i mean

29+ tires, short chainstays and front suspension sounds like a very good time

^wut^ (to the truss unit)

I think I may have posted it elsewhere already, but this thread needs some love.

I'll be on my Rootdown this year, first hardtail mountain bike in…shit…12 years? I likes it, only thing that seems like a compromise for my riding as been technical climbing has been harder, but I'm okay with that as even though I love tech climbing, it's forced me to get better at it and redevelop some finesse that was lost plowing up things on a fully.

It's currently running a super old Command Post in place of the Reverb, and a DHF on the front, with the Hans Danf moved to the back.

And fenders. Lots and lots of fenders.
