Just downloaded your App Roy. Very cool and helpful for me.

Thanks!

Bling bling… I had an Intense Carbine at the same weight but found it a bit unstable on descents. Might have been due more to geometry than weight though. I'm liking my current setup around 29 lbs. Seems to be the sweet spot for me.

Very nice !!!

From what I can see on that bike, I don't know what I would change to make the bike more stable. Not certain if the fork on the bike has travel adjust, but with the slack HA on the Reign for me a travel adjust for would be very much a requirement.

I have my Trance SX dialled for my requirements but it about 4 lbs heavier. To have a bike as capable as your Reign setup at around 26 lbs would be fantastic.

I'm reading that for the Pikes on the Reign they changed the fork offset to 46mm from 42mm by using the crown from a 29'er fork amiright?
And does it make the bike behave like it doesn't have a 65deg h/a when climbing as advertised?
A bike with that much travel at that weight is insane. Insane enough to interest me.

OK so I read Cams impressions…….

"As a climber I have few complaints about the Reign. With a short stem and a 780mm bar I have no trouble negotiating switchbacks despite the 65 degree head angle. For extended climbs I tend to engage the platform mode in the Monarch Debonair rear shock for a little more support. Riding the Yeti SB6c I never felt the need to flip the shock into climb mode but the Reign benefitted from some extra compression. Traction on technical climbs is good but, again comparing to the Yeti SB6c, I found the rear end somewhat less active. At just over 28 lbs for our size large, there[HTML_REMOVED]#8217;s not a lot of heft to push, and I never shied away from a big effort on the Reign."

Actually I'm wondering what was changed besides the wheels to get the bike down nearly two pounds from the review bike?

i haven't owned a current generation suspension bike for a few years. given the state of what i was riding it was finally time to gather some (relatively) modern bits. cam suggested i do a reader's rides on this; so i'll probably flesh out details there. new(ish) bikes are pretty rad, i must say.

I saw this bike while heading home from a ride this week. Quite the color scheme.

As mentioned above.

The wheels as mentioned - although they aren't much lighter than the DTs that came off. And you can get The DTs at the same weight.

Carbon Next Cranks and SixC bar, Turbine stem.
Magura MT8 brakes.
Ditched the chainguide.
Syncros carbon-railed saddle.
Ti rotor bolts made the biggest difference though.

Spent all of last season, winter and 7 days in New Zealand on this 2013 tracer 275. It was an awesome bike! Geometry/suspension was dialed!

Gave in and got the new 2015. Carbon is all the rage these days but theres still lots to be said about an aluminium frame with the right angles. been breaking it in and getting it setup over the past week and i think i can say its better than the old tracer 275
