I love my V.2 model (2013/2014). The new model is lighter -- though still a relatively heavy frame -- and longer.

I will say I know a lot of folks who own them (V.1, V.2, and V.3 frames) and regardless of how they run them (Geared or Singlespeed) everyone who has tried both prefers the geo with the A-to-C of a 140mm fork over a 120mm fork both for the slightly higher BB height and slacker geo.

I definitely prefer my 2015 Honzo with a longer fork. 120mm just doesn't feel right so it makes me wonder why Kona specs it that way. It also begs for more than a 32mm stanchioned fork (Pike on mine).

It definitely is a porker though. Not much reason that any frame needs to weigh that much these days but it is a very fun bike.

The 2016 model is even longer!

Likely had to grease the chainstays to do that. The clearance in the ti version can't be more than the steel one because the flat at yoke is already quite close to the chainring. My 2.35 Ikon on a 35 mm IW rim has 8.5mm to spare on each side.

They were ~$500 CAD last year for the frame (including Maxle). Dollar was ~ at par.

Frames are from Taiwan, so purchased in USD, so depending when Kona purchased dollars I would expect up to a ~30% increase?

Sort of funny way to think about it maybe? But, if you've been on the fence about a, Canadian Made, Chromag frame it has been a long time since a frame made in Canada has been such a comparative value…

Lots of top quality stuff coming out of factories in Taiwan, but there is something about a Truelove or Dekerf.
