could do a clear powdercoat. clear wet paint just doesn't adhere that well to raw metal.

edit - actually seems like clear powders are susceptible to rust migration under the finish as well.

i go the idgaf route - strip it bare [HTML_REMOVED] let it rust.

A Dekerf or Truelove Chromag is way too nice of a bike for a finish of rustfull neglect!

You could get it masked and painted so it is two-tone? Leave the clear finish in spots where durability isn't an issue and have the high wear areas painted a colour?

Well no wonder I suck! I need full suspension! :)

I even sucked on a full-suspension bike…..now that I totally embrace my suckiness, I can ride and feel free.

And on a hardtail my suckiness feels awesome.

This. The only race that happens when I'm riding is the one in my head. Sometimes I'm winning, sometimes I'm losing. Got a new drivetrain for my Stylus so hopefully it'll be up and running tonight.

It's funny because I am now riding a Chromag. So somebody with a touch of mountain bike knowledge or more see the bike and assume I must be a bad ass. And they assume incorrectly.

Wrong. Always.

I got a new orange bike. According to sums, it is 11.5% more fun than my old orange bike.

Oh now that is lust worthy.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

Anyone here ridden both a Surface and a Rootdown? Care to comment on the differences? I know the geo is the same and the Surface uses higher end steel and is lighter, but any observations on how it translates to feel/fun?

Well I guess that's what I get for asking an airy-fairy question.
