i don't know, but its replacement looks like a go'er

F*[HTML_REMOVED]k yeah . Mandrell and the rest at Kona USA have it figured out. nice to see the new guard charging with the design . Fresh air to company. ( i loved and rode many konas , still have a few in my stable)

I want to love these bikes, especially the Process 111. But an 18.5" seat tube on an XL? Um ok.

Did they pull a reverse Specialized? Build a 650b bike then add longer fork and 26" wheels?

Seems Specialized is just adding 650b wheels to other existing bikes and calling it a "new chassis".

have a look at how kona names the current process models on the frames:

i think that A is a placeholder. carbon version(s) coming

Yes, I saw a guy a few months ago riding a carbon 134 prototype on Seymour. Looked nice.

The 2005 cannondale prophet was one of the first to have modern geo IMO

HA 67.5
SA 73.5

BB 13.1"
CS 16.5"

And longish front centers for their sizes.

Did they seriously not fix that with this new batch of bikes? WTF?:brazil:

I believe that the idea behind it is that you'll use the dropper post for whatever additional height you need. As long as you aren't above the minimum insertion point, I don't see what the problem is. Prevents the stubby legged people like me from finding they can't get the seat low enough for their liking.
If the spec'd post is long enough, you could always swap in a post with 200mm of travel: http://singletrackworld.com/2014/02/vecnums-moveloc-side-pin-dropper-post/

Loved that bike. The 4x was way ahead of its time…

That's the number #1 limiting factor for me at the moment. I want to jump on a 111DL frameset and switch parts from my Honzo but that 18.3 seat tube is ridiculous. And as far as I know (and heard from Kona), the 2015 Process 111 has no geo changes, still the same short ST on the XL. The Banshee Phantom looks a lot better to me with their 21" ST.

Right now where I have my Reverb on the Honzo, it would be a few mm shy of the MIN insertion line on the XL Process. Makes no sense to me, sure drop the seat tube length on the smaller frames for smaller riders, but XL should be at least 19.5". At least.

And that Bandit I posted previously, yeah, it will be parted or sold as soon as I find a 2012 Bandit 29er frame. We both went on a Niner Demo Day and both rode RIP 9 RDO, first time a FS 29er for me (was completely blown away and I too want a FS frame now), but more importantly I have converted my brother to a 29er, even being only 5'10", he wants one. He was ripping it up on the 27 lb size Medium frame. I figured I'd get him on a 650B bike next year, but I guess we're skipping that wheel size altogether.

A: You'd have to have incredibly stubby legs to need an 18.3" seat tube on an XL frame. I'm 6'5" tall and have a short inseam and could easily fit a 200mm drop post on my Nomad which has a 19.5" seat tube.
B: It adds a ton of flex to an area that should be more solid. Droppers have a lot of backward flex due to their small diameters. The 150mm drop Reverb on my Nomad bounces around quite a bit when I ride it. I want my suspension to absorb the bumps, not my seatpost.
C: It adds a more stress to the frame so they need to beef it up to compensate.
D: It looks stupid having so much seatpost sticking out for no reason.

I though 26" was dead? Interesting how they will sell.

i,d be all over one if i did not just get two new bikes in the last year , i know the current 27.5 Process is hard to get we ordered twice thru our local shop , we did get one in the end but it was a 6mth wait .

i have a large 2013 Process and my son has a large 2014 153 Process and the seat collar height is around 5" lower , too low IMO .

yeah, at least for the large and xl sizes, the seat tubes are too short.
I have a vecnum 170mm dropper (they also offer a 200mm Version) and for me at 6ft with very long legs, it doesn't work out on a frame with 450mm st.
I actually tried it, it's uncomfortably close to the minimum insert mark.

And there are gents out there that are a lot bigger.

Apart from that, the process 167 is fantastic.
If I can get hands on a frame only, I'll have to buy it for park days.

I love the super short stays on my Stumpjumper, not stable but FUN!

I suppose this can go in the trail bike thread and the hardtail thread. Unless this thread is strictly full suspension bikes. If that's the case, my apologies.
