Well I don't have one of them fancy profile pictures of my bicycle so this will have to do.

My alloy E29 is around 33.5 but once you're used to it you don't really think about it again.

i ran super light wheels last year, and they made for a very lively ride, nicely offsetting the frame heft. but they needed a lot of tlc, and i felt like i was riding conservatively to keep from (further) damaging them sometimes. the new rims (more on which later) are a bit heavier, but also noticeably stiffer and more confidence inspiring. i'm okay so far with the trade off

the light ones were carbon? I find the LB rims lighter and stiffer than Arch EX's.

So far huge difference between my Archs and 30mm hookless LB 29er rims.

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

You'll think about when you get used to your Derbys and swap back!

the problem is all the bikes i review are lighter. so i'm happy and ignorant, then i get on something in the 28 lb range, and once i switch back, i'm thinking about it. at least for the first few rides

no, pacenti tl28s. very light, nice and wide, but not stiff or confidence inspiring

I'm not expecting the Derbys to save me a lot of weight. My Flows weigh nearly 500g apiece. The Derbys should be in that range, especially with the DH layup. Or did I misunderstand your statement?

Ha, sweet! I think mine is in a similar state but my tubes are possibly still all pointed in a straight line at the moment. Unlike you, I have zero ability to join them all together, so am leaving it to a man who can :)
