Are those carbon?

Why, yes they are… you can see part of the sticker on the front wheel which is partially obscured by the rear wheel… these are the matte carbon. There are also some weave versions available.

Poking a bit of fun at the giant CARBON sticker.

In other carbon news, and other 29er news, these wheels are no longer on this bike. Now X0 to Flow EX with 2.3 Purgatory Control.

The leather Trailmaster LTD is starting to wear in, the Pike is awesome as expected, and I'm currently running my purple bar on it to confirm that 760 is where I'd like to land for width.

Another shot of my Instinct

Bike is nice but I really want to know if I can grab a couple of those sweet hydroformed tailpipes for my truck?!

I had enough time to take the front wheel out of the box, hang it on the scale and snap the pic with my phone. Then I had to leave for work. Sorry about the quality:

I'll see what I can do with a camera and some decent light when I have a bit more time.

You know I asked for rims with no decals but he didn't have any in 650b matte at the time… would have preferred a more clandestine look. But I got what I got. And these aren't stickers but a paint or sublimation so they can't easily be removed.

That's the one (22mm inside width) although I'm going to go with the beefier layup because I have a beefier layup.

Quite likely going with these actually:

Certainly look to be one and the same with the LB rims but I'd rather have a bit of local support in case there are any issues.

Just curious how these "hookless" rims handle being set up tubeless. Does the lack of hook mean that burping is far more likely to occur?

Well… they will warranty the Kaffenback and agreed to give me another Inbred 29er instead. So can build that up as a 29er. Now comes the dilemma…18 or 19.5 inch frame? Keeping in mind I want the option to use the Gravity Dropper on it.

First work bike problems.

I have hookless on my Roval Controls… not one issue over a huge number of rides. I run PSI around 22 - 25 on XC lightweight tires generally. (Ron's/Icons/Ralph). Zero, zilch notta problems.

That said, these are likely a bit more engineered than the ones suggested. :)

Could easily post this in the 29er thread or the Trail Bike thread, as it's the same category. So pleased with the day-to-day capabilities of the Commencal Meta, it will go unchanged this year (with the exception of a Butcher on the rear as well for winter). Continually surprising bike.
