Love it. Gets probably half of my non-commuting bike time. Weight goes back and forth between 24-25# depending on tires. Am leaning towards just leaving the larger ones on, but on the other hand, have a stock of smaller ones to wear through. Have dumped near a pound with a straight seatpost/buttfloss SLR saddle once in a while - but end up always going back to the dropper post aftera ride or two - so worth the weight. Mostly run a bash/cut down XCX setup, but have recently gone to trying without the bash - we'll see how long my ring lasts… At least they are not too dear to replace.
-2010 Rev Dual Air 150mm
-XTR front running the stock 30t ring
-XT 11-36t ten speed cassette
-X.9 clutch rear, XX shifter
-Cross specific XCX to play nicely with the tighter chainline of the XTR crank.
-SIXC DH bar - burlier bar than the ligheer variations (gives me a bit less worry in the back of my head) yet still 100gms. lighter than the alu version.
-Gravity Retarder post with old v-brake noodle, Transition seat, Straitline clamp
-XX brakes, 140/160 rotors
-The Captain 2.1 UST rear, Bontrager XR4 2.25 "tubeless ready" front. The beefier tires setup is just the next size up of each of those. Good combo of fast rolling yet still grippy on my local trails. Both tubeless with some goop in.
-Hope Bulb 20mm front, King rear - both getting on about 8 years old now. 10mm bolted rear.
-Ruffian lock on grips, no-name cables/housing, lotsa' little ti and alu bits sprinkled about. Race Face Turbine stem. M540 pedals. Cheapest 10spd. SRAM chain my local shop had. 44mm headset of undetermined branding off ebay. Sticky Velcro for cable and chain silencing duties.
