nice bike fm. fly your 26" flag high!

seriously this whole "you can't have fun on 26 inch wheels" thing is getting played. if there's one thing the little wheels are good for it's having fun: pumping, drifting, popping off stuff, etc. climbing, monster trucking, extra stability… not so much

yeah, I'm definitely using it in an ironic sense. all bikes is fun! :woot:

Did a couple of scary things to my Nomad recently. Drilled a hole for a Reverb 6" Stealth. I really wanted the extra drop and stealth was the only way to get it. Looks nice and clean with the hose hidden, and drilling was pretty easy, as was getting the hose past the BB. I did the same to a friends a week later and he is stoked as well.
Also took the air powered grinder to my dropout to recess the syntace axle with a conical fitting. I had read that the axle would fit on a nomad by replacing the conical washer with a flat one, but that must have been on an alloy frame as this wasn't going to work on the carbon without recessing the head as the axle is not long enough. So I looked at the grinder fittings in my air tool box and there was a perfect match. I checked it all out and then walked away for an hour and thought about it before committing. I was very tentative when I started as I didn't know if it was going to be solid inside the dropout, and whether I'd be shredding fibres or what was going to happen. It worked like butter and I'm glad I did it.

So that's it for 2013. Only other plan for this bike is to beat on it with reckless abandon.

@Kram: those are some solid mods.

I am super curious about the 6" Reverb. It is a 30.9mm model, right?
I want the extra drop too, but I was informed that the 6inch version only comes in 31.6 and 34,9mm?
It is listed at our distributor, but never in stock in 430mm and 30.9mm.

If it really was available and not a hoax, I'd be thrilled!

Greetings Znarf

I did a little dance in my head after. It was either going to be a fit of rage or a happy dance, so things worked out nicely.

Yes, it's a 30.9, 6" stealth. They exist for sure. And I can assure you that the extra inch is worth it. Make it just right for me, as it was always just a little high when dumped with a 5" and although it was better than nothing it was always a little disconcerting on the really steep stuff and bothered me when leaning in corners especially if I'd been spending a lot of time on my DH bike. Now it's perfect.

Perfect! Thanks a lot for that info.

I absolutely believe you, as I feel that way myself. The 5inch version is great, but it´s just that tad short. Also too short for me in overall lenght, if I´d go to a large Enduro 29 or another bike with a 18.5inch seattube.

My Spitfire with Updates: CCDB and 650B-Wheelset. Next Thing to Upgrade is a e.13 Tacco-Chain-Device, as the Stinger is very exposed and reduces BB-Clearance. Weight is now 13,8 kg. I love it!

Nice, I kept bending my stinger with the low stays.

Took off the stinger, put a clutch derailleur on my 9 speed drive train and haven't dropped the chain since (A dozen rides)

Thanks! Yes,a clutch derailleur could be a solution, too. Not Fan of the Stinger that way …

I just built up this little ripper for my wife. I can't wait to see her tear it up. Comes in at 31lbs, it shed almost 5lbs from her old Norco Six.

My bike is ready for the trails now. Stumpy EVO
Upgrades, DMR Vault pedals, some blue ano bolts, carbon DT guard, clear Shadow Conspiracy grips, Elixir 9 brakes, Raceface Atlas stem/bar, X9 Type2 rear mech, Hope Pro II rear hub and KS LEV.

is going big on a bike the only way to get you stoked on the sport? what happened to riding with your bros, travelling, and riding unique places, to get people stoked on riding?

fines are useless. there needs to be more punches to the throat.
