That Reign looks spot on! Not usually a fan of blue bikes but it works.

Fork travel?

Right now 150mm. It rides pretty good at that height, but I would like to potentially drop it to 130mm.

Sounds like 140mm would be the sweet spot.

Having moved from Vancouver back to Australia I found the Specialized Enduro Evo that had been such a ripper on the North Shore to be just a little too much bike for our local trails. A lucky entry in a magazine comp netted me this cool new frame from Whyte (Big thanks to Revolution mag!). Allan at Carabuta, the importer, has also been a massive help and set us up with these sexy Italian FRM wheels that are light, wide and waaayyyy fast (about 1,400grams and 21mm internal wide).

I’ve just finished building her and she’s become a 130mm/120mm trail whippet that’s a blast on our rocky, dry trails. The T-120 frame has an alloy front triangle coupled with a carbon real end. It pedals really well and gets noticed by all the pretty girls (ok, not really true). A single 32 tooth ring on carbon Truvative cranks and a clutched XT drive train take care of foreword motion and XTR Race brakes are a revelation for bling, feel and power.

A dozen rides in and I’m waaayyy happy with the frame and build. And though my wife sez it may be the most expensive prize I’ve ever won, I say it was worth doing properly!

That's because Marin used the same suspension design, which was originally designed and used by Whyte bikes. Jon Whyte was an F1 suspension designer and designed the Quad system and, incidentally, also started Whyte bikes… Go figure, right?

I don't post much, but I wanna play.

2013 Norco Sight 26" wearing fetish gear, black latex. In case you're wondering what a Sight looks like with a Lyrik on the front. I think it'll be the hot ticket for pedalling on the Shore.

Say hi if I pass you on Bridle Path. ;)

Thanks for the kind words Znarf and C.Lee. They aren't too common anywhere outside of jolly old England, but slack angles and sealed-for-life bearings would make them a hell of a bike for the Shore. Check out the 150mm 146 (super slack, full carbon, big money SEXY) or the T-129 (sweet looking trail 29er)

Hey MikeyOrange, knowing Jon Whyte's name is what won me the frame! The parts however are far from free…

Oh North Shore, how I miss your Sh*t scary trails… NSMB keep me sane on the worlds flattest continent.
