What about a 'people who do dull jobs but earn shit loads of money' category? If I sold cell phones on commission I'd probably be able to afford a sick bike, but I'd also shoot myself in the face. I don't see how people in the industry are at an advantage.

Yes, this.

we should get a 5lb "postal" bonus..

Is there a Vancouver in Taiwan?! I had no idea!!

maybe a disclaimer for those in the "industry" would suffice

As long as the bike your own i don't see how working for peanuts makes a difference?

And besides - isn't almost everyone in BC "industry"

And we should get a 10lb poverty bonus :P

Although in all seriousness my frame is from 2007 and I'm happy enough with it. If employers over here did what they do in other areas, and give staff bikes to ride / advertise for a season then great, I'd ride what we sell as we sell good bikes. But I'm not going to drop $1000 plus at wholesale on a frame mainly to please other people. I'd rather spend it on road trips and the like. So again, I don't see what being 'industry' has to do with anything.

if it doesn't have a triple crown fork, it's not a DH bike.

Sea Otter and Canberra don't count.

So, people are complaining about Fox 180s which weight just over 5 lbs when a Boxxer WC is only a few ounces heavier? Does that make it a DH bike more than the single crown equipped bike? We are not just talking about racing here, but the real world(for me) application for DH and FR bikes. Single crowns are part of this category, like them or hate them.

I still need to get a proper pic on the scale. Should be around 35lbs though, even with the heavy Cromag brass seat post lever.

I saw front derailers last year, thoes dont come on dh bikes. and the last time i saw a brand new 7" dh bike was 2004.

I might post my bike latter, or wait untill it gets better.
