Dual ply or single HRs Dave?
NSMB - 2012 Light AM/FR bike build off 4-7"
Dual ply or single HRs Dave?
single ply all the way
I don't even run dual ply on my downhill bike
^^^I'd love to know the weight. Bike looks fun.
This.
Still in the process of making a few little changes since this photo:
Hans Dampf Tyres coming.
Have a single ring chain guide and XTR trail derailaer to put on too, although quite happy running the current 2 x setup so the drearailler may go on but not the guide.
Haven't actually weighted it… maybe around 13kg (or just under 29lbs).
Will get round to checking in the coming weeks, for now just want to get a few miles on board.
so ste
, however, notice the black guys pants don't leave much to the imajination.
weighs around 31 lbs. Not sure i trust my scale though.
i9 enduro wheels. tubless minions and nevegals. Formula the ones.
Gotta get used to this bike, the front end is a lot lower than my Bullit. Riding over the handle bars too much.

It's pretty interesting to see that AM bike weights haven't really progressed over the last 2-3 years with the introduction of new carbon offerings. I've been "weight weenie-ing" for a while, and during that time, 6" bikes have consistently hovered around the 29-30lb mark.
We're not seeing the gains likes DH bikes have, still knowing that the weight losses to be had are relatively smaller.
Another trailer queen! ;)

I picked the silver xt cranks specifically to match the colour of my truck!
Should have went black otherwise
Why slag free swag?
ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

but my truck is silver
that and black paint on cranks lasts about 3 rides before it rubs off and looks like crap

I'll have a bike in here in a bit. was 28.8 lbs but I'm a claimer because I didn't snap a pic. might get heavier as i intend to get a dropper post on there but i have to sell some things first.

well, if he had a 32mm chassis fork on that carbine it would help. even better with a carbon crown revelation. but yes, less than 29 with a dropper and front gears would likely take some compromising somewhere else.
I greatly prefer that frame to your handjob.
Cove bikes…making normal conversations dirty since 1981.
Wrong. Always.

I'm guessing that a big factor here is that dropper posts and bigger tires have become almost mandatory. Apples to apples, the light 6" bikes of 2012 are miles ahead of the light 6" bikes of 2009.
