NSMB - 2012 Light AM Hard Tail build off 4-7"

Lightest AM /FR hard tail wins bragging rights.

Lets see the personal build of your ride. Regardless of the weight, post up your ride and if possible take a scale shot (remember if you are going to state a weight, get a picture of the bike clearly showing the weight on a scale or people will call your bluff).

For weight bragging rights it must be a rideable bike with

- 4-7" front wheel travel
- 2.2" tires minimum (specify dual/single/UST ply)
- specify 9mm, 15mm or 20mm front axle
- full leg extension seat-post or a telescopic (must be able to realistically climb on the bike)

Alright here we go:

Blizzard LT, raw. 27.4 lbs with
- Revelation RLT 150mm / 20mm
- 2.4 Conti X-King / Mtn King with Protection Sidewall (Heavier)
- 9spd (gasp!)
- Swapped brakes to SLX brakes. Such good value for these. Highly recommend them.
- Gravity Dropper

This is more indicative of how the bike was ridden (the Jones bars are actually very comfortable and excellent for certain applications. Like anything else (29" wheels, 10-speed drivetrains) you should at least try them once before sharing an opinion):

I also road it for a while as a 96'er with a rigid fork.

I use it as a 700c wheeled commuter rig now; for hardtails I definitely prefer 29" wheels.

thomson stem/post, lynx dt seat, deity blacklabel bar chopped to 29.5"-ish.
XT brakes, NSB brake adaptors (yay local)
crank bros. iodine headset and new mallet 2 pedals.

learned today that I could save 30 VALUABLE grams with a different bottle cage, but I'm torn because it has red accents.

edit: can I just say I heart the shit out of this tire combo? just the right amount of drifty with the nobby nic on the back and the fat albert front is nice and sure footed. went for a ride today and the bike felt so dialed traction-wise.

Here are mine:

HONZO!!! w/ an XT/XTR parts mix, 2012 Fox 34 (dropped to 4" to match stock geo with 5" Revelation), the major changes from this photo are a set of Hans Dampf tires and I have gone to 175mm cranks (180mm are great for 1-speed, but my legs are too short to spin them geared).

This is my current single speed. 4" Fox fork on a 2009 Gary Fisher (magic gear w/out tensioner is 32:21). The only major change from this photo is a set of XT 180mm cranks.
