currently waiting on the updated chromag kamui frame to replace my aging rocky hardtail.

This. Except to replace a TransAM frame. Last I heard was late April to mid June.

So you're at 110mm with the Float 34? So the Fox 34 at 110mm is the same A-C as the 120mm Revelation? I'm thinking of ditching the RS Revelation RLT 140 I have for my Honzo and get a Fox Talas 34 and run it mostly at 110mm, then 140mm for the big stuff and descents.

I think it is perfect at 110mm… would never want more.

I keep flitting between my Bullit and my Trailstar but for now have settled on my Trailstar as the bike I should ride most, so I'm gonna swap all the good parts over onto it and keep the Bullit for uplift days (if I can be arsed to build it up for one ride) or any bike holidays. Pics to follow in the next week when I get it all built :)

Good to know. Ordered a Fox 34 Talas 110/140 today. I thought about the Float 34, but I had a white 36 Float before and never really liked white forks. Transition is sold out of the Float 34 in black, and heavily backordered into the CTD Float/Talas due in a couple of weeks. If I'll get tired of the Talas, maybe I'll buy a Float cartridge in the future, but I can't complain for today, I scored the Talas 34 at an awesome price!

Plus my last bike, the TransAM with a Float 36 was WAY over-forked for the trails around Chicago.

You aren't a gal, and you fill up every bike thread with "Should I get this {Insert trendy bike of the day}?", and don't actually contribute anything constructive.

Ya know, I don't think I properly responded to this. I forgot to add a big old "FUCK YOURSELF, BIGGLES."

Wrong. Always.

You did properly respond in rep. Once again, you didn't add anything constructive to the thread. (Nor did I, but I've got a hardtail that I love).

24.8# on the local shop scale, but no pic - claimer only. Handles beautifully! Felt immediately comfortable, and required very little tweaking mid-ride this afternoon.

Revelation Dual Air, 20mm, at 150mm - may drop it down to 130-140 and see how things feel.

30 x 11-36 drive. XX brakes. ADvantage UST 2.1 rear, Minion DHF 2.35 front. Gravity dropper. Assorted mish-mash of other stuff. . Really, really happy with the bike! The TransAM was nice, but this feels even better. Only new parts are the seat-clamp and headset bits. And not having to run a shim for the post. 10mm Hadley bolted rear.

Looks awesome. How much was your TransAM before? Mine was a pig, almost 34 lbs.

27 with the same build. I'm a little guy, and can get away with some fairly light stuff that the larger dudes would just trash. My hardtails were heavier out west - longer descents, so was running beefier wheel and tire setups. Everything out here is steep and chunky with rocks and roots, but short in the vert department. Lots of slow speed techy moves combined with bits of fast singletrack.

Anything less than this might just feel too stupid light. But…thinking about the On-One carbon 456 frame, some Enve carbon rims, other spendy lightweight goodness built up together makes me feel all funny, like when we used to have to climb the rope in gym class…

I look forward to riding the shit out of this bike.
