I didn't photo mine, but I used ae15 areo spokes and alloy nips. At least with the 15g the nipples have a little more meat. Probably would not use the spokes on the rear again though, as they have taken more work than the last set.

the suggest weight difference is about a quarter pound but they also have post mounts and you save some extra weight by not having to run those bulky front brake adapters! o and hey theres my bike ^

the sx wheelset was a ebay win and it came with the specialized tires mounted on the rims….it also came with stans goob already in the tires. if i go to ust tires , although there would be a weight gain, it would be offset loss of the stans.

i think a person could, if they wanted to, get this build in to the low 30's….although i don't think it would be a great bike to ride for DH racing, it could be a great bike for blasting AM trails.

yes dean, it would be neat to borrow some bling parts and see how low she can go. I don't think it would bother me to run XTR cranks full time.

and the 31.5 build was more to just get the title and to beat that 88 in the old thread. this bike will mostly be ridden at the 34.1 weight and the 33.5(air rear shock)

The side knobs are big and exposed, like a Chunder.

The center knobs are paired and siped in both the drive/brake and cornering directions. They resemble a mix between the center knobs of a Maxxis Minion DHR and DHF. They

I like how they get their panties in a wad when someone drops in with a really low bike.

Skilled smooth riders can get away with really light stuff, just don't screw up to bad or it will be expensive.

How about a brief write-up on those tires after you get a few rides on them? They were on my shortlist for the 1000 gr. freeride tires and I'd be interested in what you think of them.

moi aussi, SVP

Please let me demonstrate the ride around; really it's no trouble.
