I just bled a set of saint calipers to the new xtr levers (bl-m988) and with parking lot tests they are some of the best feeling brakes I've ever used, i will give you guys an update once I've put some time on them in the trails though.

as a side note they will be used for purely DH as they are on a DH bike and they are on dual 8" rotors.

sweeeeeet.

I'm jealous.

did you need any aditional parts or do the levers fit to the saint brake lines without any problems?

I played around with a set on one of the reps bike. By far the best feeling brake I've ever grabbed. Felt like it had more then enough power, I've seen people running ultimates on big bikes so I don't see it being a huge issue. especially for a lighter rider.

XTR levers to a saint caliper sounds ideal.

Just because I like boys doesn't mean I want to go out with Mike.

So after day one, all i can say is these brakes are sick.
Stupid powerful, modulate well and an amazing lever feel, I'm very happy with them. The short lever is amazing for setting up a nice tight cockpit.

and to answer the question about extra parts, the levers i bought came with hoses (they use a new hose , smaller inner diameter i believe) the hoses had fittings that bolted straight onto the saint caliper. I didn't have to purchase any additional parts, which was awesome. Total set up time including bleeding was under an hour.

ID of the XTR lines is actually a bit larger. you need to use a silver connecting pin if you plan to trim lines.

Because that's just the way I roll…

hm would be a cheap investment, 70eur per lever + 2eur for pin and olive. decissions, decissions…

has anyone the weight difference between the 2 levers?

"Shimano have even given XTR M980 a new hydraulic hose with a smaller internal bore but larger barb inserts for reduced power loss."

i stand corrected. either way, the xtr brake hose and pin are unique in the shimano line up.
