i will disagree whole heartedly. Ive had many Norcos including the 4XXXX. It was way too single purpose feeling for what i would like. But that is what they designed it for. Rides with a starting gate only need apply.

This bike in question will out shine as a more versatile ride.

Single purpose indeed but I've made a 4X work as a trail bike too (requires a whole lot of part changing).

Ive seen the pics and they look promising, but does anyone have any geo numbers, spec etc. of the new shores that are coming out in a few months?

The newer Shore wont be out until next year I thought? It will be a 2011.5 model, and the 2011 will be the same as the 2010.

Weight alone can dismiss your statement, I don't know of one Shore on planet Earth that is below 35 pounds and the Range 1 is a scoche over 30. That is alot of weight shed and it would absolutely change the "feel" of the bike. Angles, suspension design tweaks etc. etc., the list goes on………

for sure bud. you are all over it.

I want to know the geo as well

is going big on a bike the only way to get you stoked on the sport? what happened to riding with your bros, travelling, and riding unique places, to get people stoked on riding?

fines are useless. there needs to be more punches to the throat.

Sorry, my question was about the 2011.5 model.

The Range 1 looks sick!

I wonder what it weights?

I meant more in regards to its cockpit layout. Shores always feel too long for how cramped the cockpit layout is to me. I prefer the layout on the 4XXXX. Now, just add 3-4 more inches of travel and a 65 degree head tube angle and I'm a happy camper…

I wish people would stop whining about braking bumps, they happen and thats why there is full suspension, man up ya posers…

sliding downhill is like sex or pizza …even the bad stuff is pretty good
