New Nomad coming?

Been lookin at a Santa Cruz Nomad. I see they have now introduced the 2016 colors, so it’s unlikely they will update the bike in any non-trivial way anytime soon. But I think it was introduced 1.5 years ago and most bike cos update their models every year. I know SC is different, but I’m sure sales have started to stagnate. I love having the latest and greatest, and we all know the MB world changes fast. I would hate to buy a Nomad 3 (?) when the Nomad 4 is just around the corner.

So my question is, has anyone heard, or can make an educated guess, about what might be happening with the Nomad lineup?

i'd expect a bronson refresh first. nomad is pretty dialed, whereas the bronson could use a few tweaks. of course, they could go and completely revise the vpp platforms on all the small bikes to address the "unrideable" wonky leverage rate curves.

I was told by a buddy there have been 4 nomads, he has had all of them, each one was better than the last and this years IS the new model there might be some changes with SC very recently being bought I heard the frame warranty will be longer

junior just got the new nomad, to help pay for it he sold his big bike which did big hits but he couldn't pedal, and his xc bike which he could pedal but couldn't do anything big, sez the new nomad does it all so he is running a one bike quiver, sez the nomad blows him away every time he rides it

^Sorta true.
There was the original SAPA built clamshell welded Nomad, then the 1.5 HT version that used different sized bearings/pivot hardware. The offshored Nomad 2.0 and carbon version and the current Newmad 3.0.

SC likely only considers it a new frame when sweeping changes are made to either VPP platform, geo numbers or both.

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

TB LT is missing from their site now…

Plus a bunch of their older model bikes have the super slack STA angle

I doubt the Nomad3 will be changed anytime soon. It was just launched last year and SC doesn't have model years.

Likely the Bronson will get a change and 5010 would see something too. Revised linkage would be cool.

As said they've gotta replace that pile of shite Bronson first :)

Maybe in the new one they'll find a way to make the frame-kit cost $4500 Canadian like the V10?

v10 replacing your wilson?

It was in the running until I saw how much they were, then "your" Wilson replaced my Wilson ;)

Did you guys get any more 272 length spokes in? I had to call every bloody shop in the lower mainland to find some. BTW, if you can help me make sure Leon gets me that replacement bolt that holds the extension piece to the shock I'll buy you a beer or two!

The Bronson is still relatively fresh. The Tallboy is the oldest of the bunch. I'd love to see a Tallboy LTC update.

I had a hell of a time finding those too. IF 650b is the new normal, hopefully shops start carrying these things.
