170mm lefty chassis with sram damping guts. 12mm lower axle to crown than equivalent SC, air spring, ability to drop in travel spacers so the fork can be run as 29 or 27.5 or even 26.

no creaking, very versatile, stiff as f*ck. Make it!

JBV, sorry, not trying to make your question about me. What I am saying is that the new forks have not worked out all of their 'bugs' and a functioning solid fork is nothing to take for granted, which is what you are running.
As stated by other replies, my biggest fear is this POS Fox failing and going OTB on some drop. Buying new gives you the 12 month warranty option but laying out 1200 bones for a fork to play CSU roulette is just that.

for sure, that's why i wonder (and ask on the interwebs). i do have a pike on the other bike and it's no doubt great. slightly smoother and the rebound has a fantastic feel that slows slightly near the top. the vengeance is actually quite good i have no complaints about 'mid stroke support' or anything. fact is i'd have to ride a new lyric back to back to get a real sense of what the differences (or improvements) in feel are. the weight is objective, the rest has to be felt to be understood.

I went from a 2013 Vengeance R 170mm to a 2015 Van Fit RC2 Kashima 180mm. The performance gap isn't as large as one would think.

So what is the X fusion Vengeance like for creaks compared to the "other guys"? I am eye balling a couple of mint used ones for a hard tail.

no creaks here. it's seen less use than the other bike though, it's led a moderate use life at this point. with a bike park opening here next summer, that could change drastically.

Will always have a soft spot for my 2006 Marzocchi All Mountain SL. For a 150mm fork to only weigh 2kg seemed crazy at the time. And the plushness! Oh the plushness!
