I want something tough and strong, but also that is not going to break the bank. Right now I have my stock 26" wheels that came with my 2013 slayer, they are straight pull wheeltech hubs on Sun inferno wheels. 142 x 12 rear and 20mm front axle. I'm not really happy with them, a lot of broken spokes and constant truing especially in the rear. Weight is also not a huge issue. I don't need the lightest wheels out there as long as they are durable. If anyone has any advice or knows someone that is selling a wheel set or even just a rear wheel and good hub any advice or leads would be appreciated!
Need advice on new wheelset.
hope pro evo with spank oozy rims have done me well , currently collecting parts for a 2nd set , these will be 28h straight pulls with dt swiss 350 hubs with the 295trail version of the oozy rim

Hope hubs, Stans Flow EX rims
I've got to second hope hubs. Finally got my first set this year and I'm impressed.
Check Crc but our dollar definitely has taken a beating. When looking at that price account for the likely cost of duty

This. These are very nice wheels at a very nice price!

I will second this….this setup on my Samurai65 has been so bomber.
Hope hubs are great, but the rear is LOUD. Some people are OK with it, but it drives me nuts. Except when I'm behind someone, then I like it… Most of the times I like it quiet in the woods, the birds chirping and the sound of my side knobs tearing off when I rail corners.

I love that it's loud, it means when I'm on the valley trail I just coast and people hear me coming, in races when you catch someone up and keep coasting it makes them nervous and they get out of the way, it's a good warning sound for wildlife…lots of good reasons for aloud hub, well, unless you like to quietly sneak up on people and scare the crap out of them.
I didn't mind the loudness of my Hope hub, but after cleaning the pawls and throwing in some Phil Wood grease, the hub is quieter.
On the bright side of the noise, you'll probably never have a grumpy hiker ask "where's your bell" again. Unless they are really deaf, in which case I don't see a bell helping things either. :P
oh ya 40T hub buzzing at speed love the sound .down side of the hub is trying to sneak out for ride without the mutt hearing me LOL .

I love the sound of a rear Hope.
Maybe it's just the adult version of putting hockey cards in your spokes.

Its a Pavlovian response.
