Mini pump or CO2 inflator

Currently happily using a Lyzyne Sport Drive HV, the cheapie plastic model. Inflation time seems fine, filled 2 tires at trailhead couple days ago fast enough no one in group had to wait. Light enough that it's not noticeable in pack. 

Stopped putting pumps on my frame after getting corrosion in a high end Lyzyne and Specialized pump. One Up pump seems well sealed, might be ok. Weighs a shit ton and costs 3 times in comparison to the cheapie plastic Lyzyne and performs basically the same function though.

Co2 cartridges suck to use, besides the waste. You only get one shot at it and then you're walking down the mountain. Slow leak or anything other than a 100% sealed tire and you're fucked. Even with a whole bag of them or a group all carrying them you're still walking at some point. Had to use them for XC racing and triathlon for years, outside of a race setting where I had no choice I just can't see it.

I had a frame mounted pump fill with water and dirt so I made a little condom for it.

Take a section of tube (hybrid size worked well for that pump) a bit longer than the pump, use a zap strap to close one end, flip inside out, slide pump in, fold over the excess and secure with an elastic or something and you’re good.

I think my oneup is still good without one but I haven’t been on the bike as much this winter. It’ll get a condom too. 

Re: weight. All that stuff will be on the bike anyway, I’m guessing the total is actually lower than if all the tools and pump were separate items.

On your rides do you bring a mini pump, CO2 inflator with extra CO2 cartridge or a combination of both?

Crank Bros mini-pump. CO2 is $$, generates excessive waste and is easy to have fail on you at a critical moment. Seems like a bad idea IMO.

I pack CO2 for emergency reseating - but for all other duties a small blackburn pump.

Definitely cheaper than the Oneup pump.

I've just been carrying 2 CO2 cartridges. I had a hard time reinflating a tubeless tire at home, so I used a CO2 cartridge. The pressure was 20psi after inflation, so I realized that I'd need a pump anyway on the trail, and if I used a plug or it took a bit for the sealant to seal a pump is the best option for topping up the psi.

Yes. Works pretty good given its size.

Wife bought me a Giant “clutch fork storage”  It stows a co2 canister and inflator up in steer tube.  Works great.  No rattle and installs in minutes.  I have the lezyne plugs zap strapped under my seat.
