When did Mec switch from selling stans to Orange Seal crap and why.?

I had a mavic stem starting leaking it due to wierd seal design yesterday went to get the big bottle of stans at Mec and they only have Orange seal at more than twice the price of stans (22$ for 250ml).
I ended of finding the 1 liter bottle for 40$ at different bikes thankfully.
I replaced the mavic stem with a stans got it seated in jiffy..
Why would they switch? Most reviews Ive seen on orange seal are iffy and there was no way I'm paying double for that.

I've been using orange seal on my bikes. I prefer it over stans.

I've found stans only good for initially sealing your tire and not punctures.

Orange here. Tastes somewhat better too.

Freedom of contract. We sell them guns that kill them; they sell us drugs that kill us.

Been a member for 29 years and now I have to agree its lost its direction (mojo).

They have way too much selection of bike stuff most of which is crap. Hard to believe how little mtb appropriate gear they have considering this is vancouver, Tons of ugly roadie gear (sorry roadies)
They have like 30 some odd hydration packs none of which id give a 2nd look. I used to love the in house serratus brand which is gone.. The got in evoc packs but don't stock the enduro 15L which would sell like hotcakes as it is a decent size , the FR trail is way too big and the other is tiny.
They need to slim down their stock selections and start making smarter choices with what they are selling.
They got in that Moloja mtb stuff most of which was stupid expensive and looked like pajamas…etcit all went in the clearance bin..
and the new logo sucks…
end of rant

I get why MEC is doing what they are.

The casual clothing has about 20% growth potential while the sports equipment has 1-2% max.
