Marz SL Break-in Experience?

I have a new 06 Z1 SL on order, (thanks bikeroom.) I have heard from a few people that the 66sl and other air forks require 5-10 hours of break-in time before feeling plush. Just wanted to see if anyone else had gone through this and had any tips.

my 05 66vf had to go through that, it tooks about 3 2hr rides before it was butter,

I've never ridden a Z1 air but lotsa air shocks have a similar break-in period. Usually they're pretty good from the get-go but noticeably more supple a couple weeks later. Tips? Just ride it, the bumpier the better.

i've usually suggested to folks with new air forks to run a little less air than recommended. To encourage the fork to use more of its travel more often, and only for the first couple of serious rides. Remember 5 hours riding around the neighbourhood, or climbing fromme, is not breaking your forks in much.

2 - 3 rides sounds about right for my 05 Z1 FR SL. Took me about that long to get used to having so little weight in front of me too.

Thanks, I've heard of a few guys running with lower pressure in the beginning. I sure hope i don't spend 5 hours climbing fromme! I may be old and out of shape but not quite that bad…now if you would of said burke…

My 06 Z1 Light that came on my six took about 6 rides to break in and it still continues to loosen up now it's on my wifes bike.

My 66rc2x had lots of stiction at the beginning but smoothed out in a few rides, first marz for I've had that wasn't smooth out of the box.

My 66SL's took a loooooooong time to break in.

Don't use the suggested factory settings, they are f*cking useless.

Once they finally felt like they were a bit more compliant, they broke…

When I got them fixed, and got the correct oil levels in them (as they were out, as usual - not too hot on quality control are the Italians it seems) they have been fine. Nice [HTML_REMOVED] plush [HTML_REMOVED] no complaints.

Other than the dog sh*t 20mm axle design.
