Nice weight. Probably be as good as Magura have always been. Gotta say though that I do have in inherent suspicion of plastic bits being up to the task. That said, I had Time Atacs back in the day and those are festooned in plastic and I never busted those in two hard years. Lots of Plastic bash guards out there too. I guess this plastic is reinforced with carbon fiber in some fashion like some of those plastic pedals are.

Debate? Bikes are made for riding not pushing.

Properties of the material CARBOTECTURE

Extremely light (less than half the density of aluminium).
Tensile strength in between aluminium and steel, extremely impact resistant and break proof …
Highest flexural fatigue strength of all conventional bike component materials.
The efficiency weight (tensile strength/density) is double that of aluminium or magnesium and 6 times higher than steel …

Then why isn't every bike and component made of this stuff? How cost restrictive is Carbotecture?

I imagine that it's proprietary and there is lots of marketing hype. Brakes still look awesome.

Look nice, I wish they would change the lever design though. I have some louises, best modulation ive ever experienced but the levers sit so GD far out I want to get rid of them.

Also that press release is the most pretentious bullshit marketing Ive ever read.

fyi: they did a large blind test with different shaped levers at this years eurobike, results went into the design.

I could imagine putting them onto my all-marketing bike some time next year - IF the price is not too steep. I really fell in love with my Gustavs before the snow came….Maguras are awesome.

Who here remembers the Hayes Comps?

That's like looking at an Easton EC90 carbon seat post or a new RaceFace SixC bar and saying: "who remembers LP Composites"
