If this helps: My Magic Mary 27.5 2.3 Evo measures 2.302 on calipers, casing width.
Tread is 2.37.
On 22.5mm inside rim width.

Not sure what Minion Exo was. I do know it was 920g.

The new maxxis minion 2.3's are also 2.3 in width. The ERTO ratings on maxxis website show them as 58mm. The old maxxis 2.5's are only 55mm

Is anyone using magic Marys in the dh casing in 2.5? I have an oppurtunity to buy some on the cheap for my 26" Devinci Wilson. I've heard Schwable 2.3 is more like a 2.5 Maxxis and I was wondering what people think.

If I could get them cheap I'd give them a go.

Are they the bikepark version?

PaceStar, TrailStar, VertStar?

VertStar and TrailStar are the compounds you want. I ran dual VS in the park until my rear tire developed multiple tumours which from what I could tell was a casing delam. Never have I witnessed something like it before

Why slag free swag?

ummm, as your doctor i recommend against riding with a scaphoid fracture.

How does magic mary roll? I am interested in the 26x2.35 ss ts (not sg), which is just 780g. Does it roll better than dhf?

Running the 27.5 version, but I would be hard pressed to tell the any difference between the MM and the DHF from a rolling resistance point of view as a front tire. For me, when comparing grip and predictability, the two are miles apart. As much as I have been a Maxxis fan in the past the MM up front provides much more than the DHF.

Tires compared are DHF EXO 3c 27.5 vs MM SS Trailstar. I have a Vertstar I am tempted to put on but the almost year old Trailstar is still working fine.

Rolling resistance if you where to put these tires on the back, I would guess that the DHF would roll better.

I posted this before, but it deserves repeating.

I tried the Trailstar MM last year in medium/medium hard conditions and it scared the bejesus out of me. I mounted it up front, normal pressure I always use, and hit up one of my regular trails after a heavy rain. So the corners were softish and the straights were hard. Under side load, the whole tire would fold. I upped the pressure and then it was just the side lugs would fold. I became gun shy and was afraid to hit any of the corners further down.

I went home and mounted up FRONT AND REAR ARDENTS and hit the same trail in almost exactly the same conditions and the tire held in the corners. A friggin' Ardent!! In classic Ardent fashion it would drift and then catch but it was at least predictable. The MM I couldn't predict what it was going to do.

I suspect the MM would benefit from either riding in slop, or being mounted to a super wide rim. As it was, it was top 5 worst tires I have ever used.

Oh and it also rolls very slowly, but that's to be expected by looking at it.

With Maxxis re-upping their rubber game is there even a point to Schwalbe tires now?

considering I am loving my Rock Razor on the rear more then my Minion in the front when comes to mud i think Schwalbe work better then Maxxis not to mention the RR has 800km on it .
