i have the specialized lo-pros with 5.10s, enough grip for me. only downside is the golden color. it comes off very quick…
Looking for some good pedals...
How big is the platform on the MG-1's? I have the wellgo B-37's (from MEC) and find them to be okay pedals, albeit very heavy, very small and I seem to lose pins all over the place. I don't have huge clown feet, but size 11 is big enough to need a decent sized platform I guess :???:
I second trail workers question (I do have clown feet at size 13) and was wondering how big are the syncros magnesium pedals, platform wise, they just look kind of small in the picture. Oh and how thick are said pedals. Rocks vs magnesium = rocks win.
Disclaimer. Anything written above this should not be taken literally, its called sarcasm you idiots.
Syncros Mental pedals hands down.
Have tried Axiom, Azonic, Wellgos and BMW. Nothing compares to the grip and durability of the Syncros. Good big feet myself (12) and find the platform to be the perfect size.
Running the stainless versions since last April and I can honestly say these pedals have bee designed to last. No matter how many times you get sloppy and grind down a rocky section of a trail, the pins stay in place. So far I have managed to only loose two pins which I have not bothered to replace as there is more than enough grip even with missing pins.
Good:
-easy to rebuilt.
-lifetime warranty on the pedal body.
-pins are put in place with 6mm socket so even ground down pins are breeze to replace.
-pedals come with a hole baggy of replacement pins.
-durable and unsurpassed grip.
Bad:
-pedals will remove chunks of your legs. I kid you not.
-not for weight conscious people.
-pricey (keep in mind these pedals will out last several frames).
All in all, I would definitely buy another pair if ever required.
Good luck.
I had a pair of these that went strong for 2 years, just replaced those and also picked up a pair for the new(ish) Coiler D. They are pretty low profile, grippy but not so much that you are stuck to the bike in a bail and they have a very wide footbed for my size 13 clodhoppers. Pricepoint carries them down here, for $39.95.
Gotta agree with J_C on the Easton flatboys. My buddy [HTML_REMOVED] I got them recently [HTML_REMOVED] they are like glue. I have heard the criticisms about paying alot for pedals only to destroy them, but I don't mind paying for quality. I have also heard the bad opinions on the Crank bros. That's why I steered away from them. I don't beleev the pins are removable?
Thread killer
I have these, and really like them. They may be Wellgos in disguise though, i don't know. 70 retail.
