Chatted with Privateer , pre-orders next month and frames some time spring 2020. They will work with a coil-over, really like the design and price. Just not sure if I,m willing to wait 6 mths or so for a frame.

Smart play by Ibis, that Ripmo AF geo looks nice and the value on the DVO + SLX7100 build is pretty damn good. +$100 for new Jade coil with climb switch is awesome. Hope they sell a bunch.

Slowest Build ever... well okay, I finished it a week ago, but still slow AF. I blame work... and riding bikes... and having to build up my old bike to get it ready for sale.

It's pretty fun, but very different from my last bike.  I'm finding that being aggressive and getting really forward helps a lot.

Bleed Black

Nice bike. Can't believe it didn't receive a single comment yet. The green hubs go nicely, in an odd sort of way.

Which one is it? Offering? Wreckoning?

I have the insurgent and found myself clipping the chainring often as the bb sits low even on the higher setting. Recommend getting a bash or lower chain guide/bash if you haven't already.

Agreed. I'm really looking for something with a bit more beef than my Mk 1 Jeffsy 29. The Capra was checking all the boxes except for the lack of a bottle cage AND JM moved shop to Kelowna. I'm really hesitant to buy from a place where I cannot just drive up the highway to deal with any warranty issues. That being said, the only warranty issues I have had with my Jeffsy were the Guides and the Reverb, no frame issues.

Now I'm really looking at the new Slayer or the Spartan. So sexy, but I would really like to demo first as the leap in travel seems huge to me.

I tried the 2019 Spartan , same frame as the 2020 for the 29". I was really impressed , so was my buddy who owns a 2018 Enduro 29. Climbed really well , but it was set pretty stiff . It,s still on my list but has moved down. The Privateer 161 and the Ripmo AF are top 2 so far, Slayer is there just below with the Giant SX. Curious to what Transition may have up there sleeve. All the frames on my list are aluminum as well , and coil friendly .

I have a Spartan - it’s awesome. Pedals really well, descends awesome. It’s overall really balanced. I’ve put a coil in it, and wouldn’t go back.

Super Sentinel for 2020 maybe?

If you like the Privateer 161 also have a look at the RAAW Madonna.

It is already available and the Privateer seems to be inspired by it quite a bit ;-)

Ya, I now have heard that many people really liked the Spartan and were pleasantly surprised with its climbing ability. Never heard of Privateer, I'll have to look that one up. Ibis never really did it for me, but I also lust after the Guerilla Gravity Smash. It looks like a bike that would ride bigger than its numbers, especially with a coil. Again, the lack of local warranty support and no demos nearby make me nervous.

I was chatting with Transition a few months back. I jokingly suggested that a Sentinel LT , 180/160mm bike would rock. They responded with , Ya we would love that as well.

As for the Privateer , it,s a heck of a lot cheaper than the Raaw. Suggested for the 161 is roughly $1400 Euro , vs the Raaw at $1975+. Time will tell , neither are readily available with the 161 months away still. The 161 regardless of it being cheaper is a more appealing frame IMO. Be nice to try them both , hell I would love to try the Ripmo AF as well , it,s a offshore frame as well . And it,s a lot of bang for the $$$ $1899 USD  with a coil-over is a tough price too beat.

G1 is likely the ultimate bike.

But many people feel that a $3000+ frame should be designed around the ability to hold a $10 bidon inside the frame. ¯\(ツ)

some might say it's this thing instead, albeit 27.5 not 29

Ebikes are gross. 🤮

I’d take a G1 w/Pinion + chain though. 👌🏽 Mutators allow for different a slew of different options all in one bike.

I love how long travel single crowns flex and creak on Mtn bikes. Then the industry acts like these things magically don’t when another 20lbs of bike are added to them. I don’t believe the 170-180mm forks are using the e36 chassis but I(m often) could be wrong

if you want a fork that doesn't creak then get a Suntour Durolux.

I’d take a Zerode Katipo if I was going gearbox...
