With current FX, it comes up just above $4,900 CAD, once you factor in the Canadian distribution premium, you're likely looking at $5,500 conservatively.

Pivot had a huge demo here on the weekend, i rode the Firebird 29 (xl) for an hour. it was a very nice bike and stiff as hell. for tight and twisty mid speed trails, (most trails here) it wouldn't be my jam. my Patrol is a better trail bike. i wonder if i just prefer 29ers in a shorter travel package. FB felt very much like a monster truck for big mtn racing.
Joe Schwartz was on our group ride last night with a new Kona process 153 29er. this bike intrigues me with its super short stays, long reach, steep SA and not too slack HA. it might be less full sled and better suited to tighter trails. very cool looking bike with a sick build kit (Agent wheels, etc) on Joe's bike.
It's a bit of a misnomer to consider that Kona as having a steep SA if you're an XL person. Look at the actual angle of that tube - it loses its steepness pretty damn quick - then factor that against the short chainstays and you have a terrible fit, in XL at least.

the FB29 definitely likes a steady diet of gnar, if you were riding pretty smooth trails it's a lot of bike. the upside is the penalty for riding the bike is pretty small and you have the travel if/when you need it. the chainstays are short and you can flip the chip to go steeper HA if you want. i don't find any issues getting it round tight corners, no more so than other 29ers, at least.

Arbutus Routes in Whistler demos/rents Yetis but not sure if they sell them? I'd like to try a SB150 on the Blackcomb trails. And then go buy a Capra 29 CF Pro Race for half the price with better spec.

yeah they sell Yeti, last fall a buddy of mine bought an SB 5.5 demo from Arbutus for 4200, the 5.5 were 5500 last year, and going up 800-1000 this year
why bother with the demo ...just buy the capra
edit: apparently they did away with the entry level spec so I hear yeti's in Canada will be 7 ish
Yetis are 7000+ Euros in Germany, that’s around 10.500Cad.
Same applies for Rocky Mountain or Santa Cruz. Incredibly expensive because of tax and distribution model.
There are still lots of Santa Cruz and Yetis to be seen on the trails though.
The 29 inch Capra rides fantastic, also the 27.5 is really nice, had a long demo in Whistler during Crankworx.
I’d prefer the 29er though. They really designed a great bike there.

Ahh Scott just squeaked their 10K build under 30lbs, what a relief. Another long travel Enduro destroyer with an XC shock and thin tires ;-) Maybe it's not Enduro, maybe its the category-shifting Downcountry-duro??
170mm enduro bike without a reservoir shock... no thanks.
The nude shock integrates something like a reservoir in to the can. I don’t like it, but it makes sense
