Really? I've got a 36" inseam and was fine on a 495 with a 170mm dropper. My new bike is 480 with a 185. I did the math and it should work but damn that will be a lot post held in place by not a lot of frame. If this is the new normal we really ought to be moving to 34.9.
While long droppers are great, they are not an answer to short seat tubes. With long
droppers
you put a ton of leverage on the frame, and a guy like me who is not only tall but bigger, that results in cracked frames.
Just look how much seat post is showing on my demo bike:

Devinci was supposed to release that Troy this time last year.
I love my Hightower. 135mm in the back running a DVO Jade, and I just ordered an MRP Ribbon coil 150 for the front. The bike can do no wrong. What I find surprising is how much better a 29er corners. That's where I find the difference really is between big wheels and those unrideable 27.5's ;)

Hahaha. Shots fired.
Craw and pedalhound are imo prime candidates for MOJO G16s, Nicolai G13/G15s or Pole EvoLink/Machine bikes.
The seat post extension of that Devinci reminds myself of a bike from the mid-2000s. Seated weight must be mid-CS for you.

yeah the big wheels + a long wheelbase, the mo relaxed geometry , shit just seems to happen a lot slower and I don't fall off

Waaaaay ahead of you. XL Pole Evolink 158 is on order. It has a 480mm seat tube which is going to show a ton of seatpost at pedaling height.

What about short people can they ride a Pole? Or 29'r in general someone said nobody under 5'7" got no business.....

I'm 5'8" on a medium 5.5 yeti which is a 29'er and its a pefect fit for me
the medium is recommended for 5'7" to 5'11" but thats where their spec sheet ends cuz yeti doesn't make a small 5.5
so I assume 29" wheels might limit what a short person can ride ?
I really can't answer for short people, but EWS-racer Melanie Pugin rides a 29er, and she comes about up to my elbows. But watch for yourselves: She slays the section that gave Richie Rude trouble and had Sam Hill crash in the VitalMTB RAW from Olargues. That's her at 4:34.

Any tried the Process 29?

Any tried the Process 29?
I seen one for the 1st time the other day in a shop. I quickly looked at it before being distracted by the 165 parked beside it LOL. Chatted with riders who have been on the early Process 2013 model and 2015 model and they say it,s a big improvement all around . When looking at the 27.5 and the 29 parked beside each other IMO the 27.5 model is cleaner looking . To me the 29er looks like it was ran into a wall and is not laid out as well. The 29er also looks a lot taller top tube wise as well.
After spending 4 seasons riding various Kona models I was amped for this newest model and the new 29er at 1st. But now after seeing one I will hold out for next year and see what Devinci and Knolly do with their bigger travel 29er's.

These have finally become a reality and have some specs out as well now. I think it,s a contender for my next bigger bike with a 29" wheel . Love that fact they offer frame sets as well. Hopefully they will do the custom spec for this model as well. https://www.commencalcanada.com/PBCPPlayer.asp?ID=1947796
The new Öhlins DH Race fork looks like a good application for the new wave of über-endure bikes like G16 and Pole Machine. Does want.
So I handled the new Troy 29'r at Dunbar today and was impressed.
Very sexy design except for lower shock mount that looks awkward.
