Lights...

Daylight hours are starting to get shorter again :(

I don't have any lights suitable for riding trails in the dark/dusk, only commuting lights. What headlights do you recommend for riding trails at night?

I saw Chain Reaction Cycles have the 'Nuke Proof Reactor Eco' on sale at $160 which is a 900 Luumens LED.

I want to try out one of these on the bars. 1400lumens.

Is there much difference in needs from riding xc/all mountain and DH when it comes to lights? I'm a night riding newbie as well…

check ebay, i bought a magicshine from someone in Victoria who was importing them. same price more or less as geoman gear, plus no border hassles and duties and processing fees etc.

Great light set…. but you could buy 10 sets of the magicshine 1400 for the same price as one Lupine Betty set.

Magic shine are shit,had the pleasure of seeing that light in action,wouldn't trust my safety on that.There lumen count is a bit far fetched,the 900 is more like 600.Can we really put a price on greatness,i think not.I found mine for half price and it rocks,lets you know your battery power every time you plug it in and it pays its self off in the long run,oh and al night runs are now pinned.

I've got a Betty as well. Great light, no question. But for someone wanting to check out night riding, price to lumen ratio on the Magicshine is impossible to beat.
