One year report on the magic shines. (808 and 872)
They worked flawlessly. I used these lights rain or shine, and the 808 for night snowboarding a few times. For a cheap solution they have been good. Much better than some of the low end stuff ive seen coming out.
One thing to note, is much of the cost of investment is battery quality. Although I never had any issues, I think my 4 led 872 has its battery on its last legs.
I highly recommend handlebar and helmet combo.
I upgraded my helmet light to a Gemini duo 1400 since they were on sale. Stoked on that because the output is close to double the 808. (measured lumens of 1100 vs 650)
I wanted the lupine piko with gopro mount but couldn't justify the cost.
Over here the Piko would be about twice the cost of a Magic shine, and I have not yet bought neither. I am currently intrigued by a Sigma Power LEd lamp, and came across the piko.
Still, I think I have the money at the end of January, beginning of February and guess I just have to wait and make a decision then. I do not want any possible guarantee hassle, tho. So a local manufacturer would be more than logical I guess.
