Light platform pedals?

Hey guys

Currently looking to replace my Tioga MX Pro pedals and figured I'll ask for some recommendations.

Currently I'm pretty set on getting the same pedals because they are the lightest platforms (non-magnesium) I know of and they are durable and have excellent grip.

Tioga MX Pro

460g per pair

Any other light pedals anyone recommends?

You cant go wrong with MG1s - durable, good grip, super cheap off ebay and really light. I run them on all my bikes and if I am going to break a pedal I will break it whether it is a mag or aluminum one. I bash pedals all the time and I have only broken one mg1. The pin holes are pretty durable as well - if you haven't tried the mg1s you should give them a shot before you rule them out just because of the material.

My girlfriend runs MG1's and they are definitely very nice pedals (especially considering the light weight). However personally I find the Tioga's 'feel' much better, I guess because of the bigger platform surface area and flatter shape.

Any other suggestions other than the MG1's?

The Kona Wah Wah pedals are nice but they're listed as 478g per pair. If you like the Tioga stick with them, unless you just wanted to try something different.

NC17 Sudpin III Pro.
Super light at 380g, big and really thin.
Bearings/bushings hold up great.

Expensive and might not be available in Canada.

Look at www.nc17.de

I have a pair of Straitline pedals and they are expensive and heavy but I love the way they feel and I haven't had too many pedal strikes even with my low BB height. I've had them for a year and they still spun nice until I rode for a week at Whistler in the rain. A rebuild kit isn't very much though and is on order now.

I vote for the MG-1s too if you aren't after a low profile pedal.

DMR V12 Mags are about 430g but smaller body than the Tioga. I don't recommend Twenty6 pedals.

MEC had some pedals that looked decent, in the $70 range, they felt light with sealed bearings. Not on the website though

Snafu has some that they claim are 120g (each?) but they're BMX guys so they probably don't know what a gram is

Premium Products at 450g or so
