This is kinda gear kinda NBR.
I read a comment on the other site about SRAMs implementation of some lean principles. Essentially it simply transfers risk onto the downstream distributors and stores. SRAM only makes what is ordered.
This is a big deal.
When some parts are not up to snuff, or if distributors and/or stores don’t correctly predict demand, they’re left looking like shit as the time to fulfill any request is weeks or months.
Introducing new SKUs only exacerbates this problem.
I’m surprised this has never been brought up as a point of interest on any articles pertaining to “new standards” or “your local bike shop.”
