If you're not looking for a full-on DH tire, the Conti TrailKing 2.4 is quite a big trail/AM tire.
Advantage 2.4 is pretty freaking big too if you can find one…
WTB Vigilante is a good sized 2.35 and in the light version reasonably light. Pretty close in size to HD 2.35. I'm liking the traction they have right now.

Prolly go this route. Bigger than Nobby Nic on the front now and 40-100 gms lighter than the other suggestions.
