Ah, ok...got it. I think I experiment a bit with the cleat position on the right shoe then. If that does not help I think I might get a different pedal.
yeah so I pedal like normal and stop without moving the foot on the pedal SO my foot is now in its natural state of pedaling
Then I slowly wiggle heel of shoe left and right to feel how much freeplay there is before I hit the limits of the float in either direction
The whole point of this ^^ is that I don't wana be up against the spring tension of the release mechanism because it will put my foot into an unnatural position so you should feel some freeplay before hitting the release tension of the retention springs
so how you adj that is by undoing the screws holding the cleat on and twisting the cleat in either direction
snug the screws up a bit when you are doing this or your shoe will be stuck on the pedal if the cleats are too loose and you will lose your adjustment to get the shoe off the pedal, if you got spd's it might be a good thing to back the retention way off during this procedure
when you are happy loctite the screws and crank em down or you can be stuck in your pedals andd lose your adjustment
readjust your release tension if you got it
^^clear as mud?
