My 8 yr old nephew is showing an interest in riding and I'd like to get him some knee and elbow pads. I'm looking for an inexpensive option to give him some protection until we see how much he ends up riding. Any shops with stock or online product selections would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm looking for some stuff for my sons (age 6 and 8) as we are off to the French Alps this year. They don't need much as we'll be sticking to the smoothest trails (rigid 20in wheeled bikes means that is the limit) but the amount of time they'll spend descending means that the odd tumble is inevitable.

Looks like G-Form, IXS and Race Face do small kids pads.

W/B squamish clearance store has kids pads on sale.
I picked some up from there recently. Worth checking out, if looking for a deal.
They are Race Face.

I had a tough time finding them too but was able to get some good ones at Obsession bikes at the bottom of Lonsdale. Were not cheap tho - $90all in.

I've bought more pairs than I care to admit. In the end the GForms are the best.

Small elbows work for skinny legs really well.

The raceface stuff is great for kids. It was the only pads that fit my 8yr old. Not too expensive either.

I have ordered a couple of pairs from CRC for my two boys last night.
Ordered a set of Small kids IXS Hack Evos and a set of Small Kids G-Form knees.

According to the sizing charts on the manufacturers websites they should fit my 8 and 6 year old respectively, if not I can return them easily enough.

Back in the stone age my buddy cut up a blue foamy and ductaped it to his 4yr old while junior was learning to ride… learned to ride with no training wheels real quick in a week

Just bought my 5yr old daughter some Titan Pee Wee knee pads from Fox - $25 at Garbo Bike and Bean. Hard shell, easy to strap on, and light. She liked them right away and it looks like there's room for her to grow with them (rated age 4-9).

I just grabbed some IXS pads there for junior. 50% off. Thanks for the heads up.
